According to Valley Metro, the $3.1 billion dollar project has remained on budget and more than half was funded through federal grants.

Right? We are barely 8 days into 2025. He also said they're doing another extension on south central which they're not. Dude just lied to make the project look bad and the station let him. Seems like poor journalism to not correct the blarantly wrong facts

City of Phoenix has done a great job. As a a South Phoenix resident I still patronized Ponchos and Tortas Paquime during construction. Need Pete's Fish and Chips to start taking credit cards as I rarely carry cash. Once completed (almost there) Central Ave will sprout new businesses More traffic is nice, but I rarely patronize a restaurant without checking their menu on line as well as Yelp reviews. As promised by Valley Metro, the single lane in each direction works fine as well and the bus turn outs are a big plus.

The businesses are struggling because they are charging extremely high prices for food. Chinese takeout next to poncho’s averages $90 for food for four people.

Thats everywhere to be honest. Liyuen on 7th ave and Pima is the same for price for my family. Its tough everywhere.

They are giving the people PTSD so they move and sell out to richer people, corporate instead of family owned small business. I've lived through it. When the construction is finally down the home prices and rent will be through the roof. And it will be noisier and more congested as they build all the new cookie cutter developments.
