Eric Peterson is one of the most underrated guitarists totally agree. Possessed 7 churches is an extreme metal album that combined with Slayers Reign in Blood with a dash of Venom, Celtic Frost, and Bathory thrown in is what Death Scream Bloody Gore was built from. A cool and funny tidbit about Possessed...The guitar player on 7Churches is none other than Larry Lalonde from Primus.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing these concert reviews. Because of where I live attending a live concert of any kind is out the question right now. You're so sincere and so good at sharing your genuine emotions that every time you talk about a show I feel like I was right there with you. That is a true gift

Saw Testament in 2008 when Alex came back. Man that show was incredible. I was front row in front of Alex and they did some tracks from The Gathering that hit super hard. I even got to strum Alex’s guitar during i think Three Days In Darkness. I also got kicked in the head by a crowd surfer. Wild night but highly memorable.

Fucking Great Man, Kreator is awesome af! They come from Essen in Germany, about like 20 kilometers away from my city. Teutonic Thrash really goes fucking hard, checking out Sodom should also be a must be, even tho they are more "motörhead-style" than like as technical as Kreator. But seeing them live is just fucking great, and actually meeting these guys from time to time, as they hang out at the same bar as the local metal scene here does! Cheers man!

I got into Testament after I saw the Trial By Fire video. I immediately went out and bought The New Order, and a little later, The Legacy. I actually brought Testament to my High School. I finally got to see them on Slayer's "retirement" tour. They played a really short set, though.

I went to the 'Clash of the Titans' tour when it hit the UK back in 1991. The lineup was Slayer, Megadeth, Testament and Suicidal Tendencies. What an epic show - I was just 17 years old and it was my first metal show!
@Rr0gu3_5uture3 ай бұрын
The Edinburgh Clash of the Titans show on October 12, 1990 was my first concert when I was 15. It was epic! I remember the exact date because it was unseasonably warm that day. it's kinda unusual getting mildly sunburnt in Scotland during mid October, lol.

I was at the Toronto show as a young teen. AIC opened. Slayer was the closer and got 3-4 songs in before leaving the stage because people were throwing chairs. Seriously, there were loose chairs on the floor. Still an amazing show. Dan Spitz was walking around with a giant dildo. Mike Starr was skateboarding offstage during the Megadeth set.

When I dropped the needle on the "Beyond the Gates" album it was my first time hearing "harsh vocals". In 1986-ish I was a superstitious 16 y.o. D&D kid with a shine to the occult when I found this dangerous new album fresh in the record store at Maplewood Mall. I bought it because I knew it was "Bay Area" metal. Back home in the darkness of early night I opened the demonic gatefold cover for the first time, releasing the acrid smoke of Hades from within, and put the inky black vinyl on the turntable. The needle hissed for a moment, and then Possessed starts blasting with the most sludgy Low-Fi sound I ever heard up to that point. The growling wailing vocals of demonic torment kick in, and the room is filled with dangerous eeeeevilllll. ;) It was a cool experience.

This sounds like an amazing show! I've seen testament a few times now but possessed and Kreator are still on my list. Couple facts you may not know about Possessed since youre kinda new to them: -the vocalist, Jeff Becerra, is the only original member of the band. He was also the bassist, but was paralysed in a shooting in 1989. -the original lineup from the 80's included Larry Lalonde from Primus on guitar! He was in another thrash band called Blind Illusion, which featured fellow Primus colleague Les Claypool on bass.

Saw Kreator as 2nd of 3 bands supporting Celtic Frost back in about 87 in Manchester. The security staff had to grab a few crowd members afterKreator to help remove the remains of the first three rows of seating which were no more than matchsticks by that point lol Seen Testament two times. First as support to Anthrax on their Among the Living album and 2nd was at Download festival in 2015. Bith great bands. Unfortunately never seen Possessed, even though I am quite partial to their stuff. Beyong the Gates is an awesome album

Possessed - Seven Churches is an all time classic album and it has Larry LaLonde as one of the guitarists. Jeff Becerra, the singer, was shot in a robbery and that is why he is in a wheelchair. He’s a metal legend.

Possessed is OG Bay Area Metal going back to the Ruthies Inn days. That Vocalist is Jeff Becerra who also used to play bass. I know a little about how he ended up in the wheelchair. He was shot in the back while on the ground by some black kid in Richmond CA. If I recall correctly the kid said "fuck that white boy" before shooting him for no other good reason. Someone in my family was at the court when this case was being tried.

I'm like you - insane Testament fan (Sins Of Omission ftw), lukewarm on Kreator until recently...You really should check out a TV series called 'Dark' - it features a Kreator album fairly prominently in the storyline along with some crazed 80s time warp stuff. Yes, it's in German but don't watch the English dub.
