I have a small, 2-cup crock pot in which I store my beeswax. I simply turn it on for a few minutes to melt the wax, and then dip my papers in , using tweezers to hold them. It's fast, neat, and the beeswax smell is heavenly.

I bought a secondhand mini crockpot just for this reason and have yet to use it. I think it’s time!

Dear Kylie - love the translucent effect of wax on paper! The wax pattern in the crumbled piece of dictionary paper reminds me of ice crystals on a window pane. Love the finished page! Until next time! 💖🎨🙏

Oh, Kylie, when you took that dictionary piece and crumpled it, I fell in love with the effect of it!!! I have never tried anything like this, but I may have to try it now! Stunning! TFS 🙏❤

Hello Kylie! I have not tried waxing papers, but it has a fascinating effect on them. Thanks for showing this idea for an added interest. ❤ Amy in Ohio

Just lovely Kylie. The translucent piece with the writing, reminded me of one of those beautiful medieval illuminated manuscript pages. Amazing, where your art can take us! Hugs from Canada.

Thank you so much Kylie, really really enjoyed watching you playing with the wax to make those papers look see through. It certainly did work. Try using an old iron to melt the wax. It will then melt a bigger surface than the heat gun does. And with the variable temperature of the iron you have a better chance of getting it done how you like it too. I’ve watched a few videos on this topic. I really love ❤️ the results with the gold too. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤❤

Hi Kylie, I bought some beeswax to try this out, but haven’t got around to it. I gasped and my daughter turned and looked at me in amazement, when you crumpled the waxed little, paper. It looks great! Thank you for sharing. Hugs, Julie 🥰

Hi Kylie. Love this page you've created. You have more patience than I do. I use an old(clothes) iron to melt the wax. Same wax paper wrap...faster. 🤭🫣 Love your work! Thank you! ⚘️

Great end result! Love this page; it is that time of year to get the wax out! My encaustics heat the studio so I tend to only play in wax in the cooler months!

I have an old iron my friend gave me when she moved that I use for arty stuff and it melts the wax quickly. I created papers some to use on a prompt challenge and loved the results. Can't wait to make more!

As always, your page is beautiful! About 6 months ago I bought a secondhand electric fry pan on FB to use specifically for melting wax. I have the beeswax but haven't tried it yet. You've inspired me!

Cool page Kylie❤❤❤ I tried the wax paper with hot gun, but do prefer iron it

Could you melt the wax in a wax seal furnace and pour it over the papers?
@creativebeanartАй бұрын
Good video...a tip i got from someone else...when you audition your piece's and youre happy with the final result, take a photo with your phone before gluing. Saves having to remember where everything goes.

As an encaustic painter, using straight wax the fumes are not an issue is would be like burning a candle. It is only when you combine wax and damar resin then ventilation is necessary! Also if you use a small craft iron on the items you want to add wax to it is 100% more effective. It melts the shreds of wax and pushes it over the pieces of paper. Just a few suggestions.

A suggestion, could you rub the candle on the scraps rather than scrap it off? Wouldn't you have a more even layer of wax before heating.
