I have always enjoyed the 52 week projects. One of my favorites was the inspiration deck. Interestingly enough I eventually packaged them as small stand alone art works and they sold like hot cakes. I have really enjoyed putting this journal together.

Oh, Kylie! This page is simply breathtaking! That image next to the indigo blue color is amazing. I love the crinkle wax pieces and the added gold elements. That image was quite a find! I am so glad it made you stand up and notice it!! What a find, what a supplement!! TFS. Have a wonderful week! 🙏🥰

Thank you so much Evelyn. I’ve had a few of those supplements sitting about for weeks as I often use little bits of pages for collage. I’m hoping the same advert is in one of the others as I’d really like another copy. I’d also like to find out what the painting is - might need a wee trip to the gallery soon 💗

@KylieCooStudio let me know when you find out. It us stunning! I'd I remember, my grandkids know how to do an image search on Google. If all goes well, I hope to see them on Friday.

It’s The Archangel Gabriel by Simone Martini in the 1330s - here’s a link and it’s the second image down: www.nationalgallery.org.uk/about-us/press-and-media/press-releases/rare-paintings-from-14th-century-italy-reunited-after-centuries-apart-for-national-gallery-200th-anniversary-exhibition. I did not realise it was the National Gallery in London I just assumed it was the National Gallery Scotland. I would love to see the exhibition that it is part of.

Seems different from what you usually do. Elegantly grungy? Really great page. Will you do a "flop-thru" of all the pages the beginning of 2025 sometime? I think i've seen most all but 52 is a lot to remember when watching your other videos as well! Love watching you create. ❤❤❤
@KylieCooStudioАй бұрын
Thank you Susan - it was quite by chance I came across the image just before I sat down at my work table. I liked the fact that it would be a bit different to most of the other pages. And of course it got a wee bit grungier because I unintentionally dropped wax on the image! Yes I’ll do a flip through video and I would also like to show it fully opened out if I can 💗

When I want to paint small dots like that, I use the end of a toothpick.
@KylieCooStudioАй бұрын
That’s a great idea - that would get very smalls dots which would have been good for her head piece - thank you for the tip.

Kylie hello I’m new to your channel. I’m wanting to learn about raised embossing techniques for use on tags and also I did not know what you meant by using wax, so that would be a great video as well. Thank you and Happy New Year 2025!!

Thank you and Happy New Year 2025 to you. I hope to be doing more with wax in the future and I will keep in mind what you say about embossing for a future video as well. ☺️

Beautifully done!! Could you share the source for the stencil?
@KylieCooStudioАй бұрын
Hi Sandy. I bought the stencil in Hobbycraft which is probably the biggest art and craft chain in the Uk. I think it was probably made specifically for them. It’s called Mixed Vintage stencil. I’ve found it on their site and so here is the link: www.hobbycraft.co.uk/mixed-vintage-stencil-25cm-x-25cm/6657561000.html Hope that helps. 😊

A beautiful page! The prospect of another 52-week project is inspiring. I learn so much from your videos. I have one problem here in South Carolina , and I think it's due to climate. My glues thicken or dry up before I can use them up. And I am always battling with the caps. Any suggestions?
@KylieCooStudioАй бұрын
Thank you Kathleen. I’m glad you like the idea of another 52 week project - I’ve had a few ideas buzzing about in my head but was thinking about it again yesterday and I think I know what it will be! What kind of glue is it that you use? Or do you, like me, use various different types? I was trying to look online to see what your weather is like - though it seems to vary across different parts of the state. It’s interesting because South Carolina is pretty much close in overall size and population to Scotland. I think your weather might not be terribly different though perhaps hotter summers and maybe more humid than us. Anyway … when you say you are battling with the caps I’m assuming you mean getting them off? If using something like a matte medium (or gloss) or the gel type then it’s worth trying to wipe round the grooves on both the tubs and the lid before putting it back. If it doesn’t fit well then it allows air to get in and the moisture in the glue to evaporate and often it means the glue around the lid goes hard and it make it difficult to get it off. The same will apply to glue sticks even a small amount of glue around the grooves might stop the lid from sealing properly. So first off clean the grooves on tub/ tube and lid. You could also try putting something like a little Vaseline around the grooves to make sure the lid runs smoothly on. And you could put a piece of plastic wrap across the top before you put the lid on. If you are working in a very hot environment or if you are using an air con or dehumidifier both of which will take moisture out the air, then you could trying storing the glue in a plastic bag - taking as much air out as possible and sealing it between sessions - you could even put a damp paper towel or face cloth around the tub/tube which should help retain moisture in the bag. I pulled out a glue stick in Sunday’s episode and it looked like it had dried out and although our summer was not very hot my studio can get very warm and some of my supplies sit in front of a south facing window and so I expect the glue stick lost the moisture it it. So, I should really follow my own advice! I hope this helps. 😃

@KylieCooStudio Thank you for such great tips! I will try them. I lived in Innellan for a year, but our climates are very different. Our summers can get into the 100s F, and we've only now gone chilly. In fact, snowflakes may arrive tonight, something I haven't seen since 2017! I was raised in New Jersey but have lived in the South since my 20s (am 70 this month). Climate seems to affect so many things differently here, from nail polish to flour storage to recipes.

Double checked - I was looking at the average temp for South Carolina - so average for the year. Doh! I did initially think you had weather much hotter than us and thought it strange when I saw the figures 😂

Hi Charmaine. The winner was announced in a pinned comment on the Giveaway video. The initial winner did not take up the offer of the free spot so I had to redraw it and I have updated the pinned comment.
