It's not the live service game that's the issue.. it's the fact it's derivative/unoriginal and full of woke DEI nonsense, so nobody will want to play it. A high quality gritty extraction shooter or something could easily turn Sony a profit, but you need someone with functional testosterone production to create a title like that.

They made money with Helldivers 2, so I think they're going to stubbornly try to chase the dragon and replicate that. Thing is, Helldivers 2 kinda did its own thing and has its own niche (closest comparison would be Vermintide/Darktide or Deep Rock Galactic, but it's still pretty different from those). It's not a blatant attempt to chase a trend or copy a more established and successful title but with more DEI, like Concord and Fairgame$ are. Sony doesnt understand why they had a level of success with that one. I spent nine years with the PlayStation four which I thought was brilliant. No interest in the PS5. I’ve gone back to Xbox. However it would be more interesting if Sony made an online shooter but used all the unique characters from all the games like ratchet and clank uncharted. They have so many unique characters in different games. They could’ve put them all together in a big online shooter where you play as one of these amazing heroes or characters against each other with a unique weapons and abilities that could’ve been fantastic but nobody ever thinks of this stuff.
