Love your analysis. I agree, too small in shoulder. I've been looking at this T and might actually buy it now I know how to work with it. Thanks.

Thank you so much! It really is a great pattern and very easy to sew. It’s got some really good finishing elements such as the sleeve bands and the bottom facings. Not having to hem knit tops is always a bonus in my books. 😂

Hi there. Oh my goodness that colour is gorgeous on you. At first glance I thought it was a perfect fit and if me, I wouldn't have a problem wearing it out but it's about how you feel in it not me! I'm not a massive fan of a tight back on a T-shirt either, too many lumps and bumps 🤣. I love that sleeve band cuff, I may copy that idea! All in all I like it, maybe make those adjustments as you said but it's definitely wearable in my eyes. 😊
@dizzyquiltsandsews2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Carole! Yeah - I wouldn’t mind a bit more room in the back. LOL I think going up a size will make this way more comfortable for me to wear but as someone else suggested, I can keep this one and wear it with a cardigan this fall and winter so not a complete loss. 💞

I, too, have been looking for a T&T t-shirt pattern. At this point, I may draft my own and see how that works. I saw several comments about the Love Notions Classic Tee. I may try that as well.

Yes, I'm going to try the Classic Tee as well. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment!

How funny you posted this now, I *just* bought the Concord (and the Cedar) the other day to try out! Now I'm even more excited to try it out ;)
@dizzyquiltsandsews2 жыл бұрын
Hi Steph! I made the Cedar a couple of years ago (I think!) and I like it. Very different fit - the Cedar is looser everywhere but it is a great tee. Now that I’m thinking about it, I really should have another go at it. Let me know how you do with both patterns. 💞
@stephanieb62432 жыл бұрын
@@dizzyquiltsandsews I have the Montrose and the Springfield fit perfected, but I wanted something for knits (the Concord) and something looser and more summery (the Cedar) so those are both my projects over the next few weeks. Thanks for sharing your experiences, it is super helpful! :)

I do agree with you that the upper portion is a bit too tight, but I think it is worth trying the next size in that area. The rest looks very good. Hard to tell about the hang until the top part fits as you want it to. Hope it works out.😊

Hi! I ended up going up to an 18 E/F grading out to a 20 at the waist and hips and it’s perfect! LOL Thanks for watching!

Gorgeous color on you, Izzy! It looks great to me, but, you need to make it comfortable for you! 💗
@dizzyquiltsandsews2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Andra! I love the colour but it does feel a little snug in the shoulders and upper back so I think going up a size will make it more comfortable. I have another fabric in a very similar colour so I’m hoping that’ll be the winner. 💞

I have made this pattern several times and the Love Notions Classic Tee and I prefer the Love Notions one on myself better. My measurements are similar to yours. I use the XL full bust front pattern and then the back I use a blend of XL/2X. I basically made by own size by just going between those sizes. I have had really good luck since doing that. You may be able to just do the XL back. You are a little bit smaller in the waist and hips. I even shortened the sleeve length a touch so I can squeeze it out of 1 yard of fabric if I am careful. You might try it if you haven't. I still like the concord but just prefer the LN classic one.
@dizzyquiltsandsews2 жыл бұрын
Hi Renee! I also have the Classic Tee by Love Notions but haven’t made it yet. I always wondered about using a different size for the back. I have extra “fluff” back there and often wished I had a little more room so the fabric would skim rather than cling on the lumps and bumps back there. Do you start with the XL at the shoulder in the back and then grade up to 2X for the bust/waist/hips? Do you then use the cut line at the bottom for the XL so the sides line up? Having a TNT that fits on a 1 yard piece of fabric but isn’t a tank would be amazing! 😀
@reneemorgan93202 жыл бұрын
@@dizzyquiltsandsews I use the XL/2/X back because its just a nice in between size. The XL full bust front is bigger anyway than the XL so it fits really nicely on my modified back piece. I don't grade anything. Just a straight size XL full bust front. However, next time I make it I am going to take a little off the center front hem. I find that it curves down too much in the center on the full bust piece and then its longer than the back piece if that makes sense.

Hi. I think it looks way better than RTW tees. Remember that even RTW clothes will have a drag line here and there but your sewing super power allows you to fix that slightly or totally for comfort and preference reasons. Remember to measure yourself before you cut out as those numbers can fluctuate. I'd like to try this pattern as well. Thanks for your input.
@dizzyquiltsandsews2 жыл бұрын
Thank you - you are so right! In RTW, I always have to buy a much bigger size to accommodate the bust and end up with tshirts that look awful. I do need to re-measure myself before I make my next one. 😀

I have started to measure my back shoulder width which I learned in a fitting class I took a couple of years ago. Although some patterns fit me with the measurements, I find the shoulder width too narrow, which is weird because I have narrow shoulders. I have made a few patterns where the top actually fit but was too tight in the back. Now I always measure the shoulder width just in case. Some patterns list that measurement in their patterns.
@dizzyquiltsandsews2 жыл бұрын
Hi Diana! I completely understand what you mean, but I couldn’t wrap my head around having to do a narrow shoulder adjustment AND a broad-back adjustment. I did some research though and turns out the broad back adjustment adds width at the shoulder blades which is where I sometimes need more room so it kinda makes sense. Thank you for this - your comment prompted some much needed research on my part. 😊

I have this pattern in the other size range (0 - 16). I really love it but I don’t like my hemline to kick out. So I measured a rtw tee that I liked and then measured the pattern to decide which size to grade to at the hip. It worked perfectly for me. That might help you out also. The color is fabulous on you!
@dizzyquiltsandsews2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the tip. I never even thought about copying a RTW top I like for the hem.

Hi Agata! Yes, I ended-up making a size 18 E/F graded to a 20 at the waist and hips and it fits me perfectly. Probably my favourite t-shirt ever! And I’ve got fabric set aside for a long sleeved version very soon. 💞

Hi! I think it looks wonderful on you, but I do understand how something can be uncomfortable to wear - you spend the whole day kinda fidgeting with it, eh? I believe you said it is a cotton jersey? My experience has been that cotton (even with spandex) jerseys usually have less stretch in them than just about any other kind, so it's possible that it's going to feel smaller that one out of, say, a rayon one. So that's something to consider, tpp. I'm in love with that green! Happy experimenting with the pattern, I'm sure you'll get it perfect!
@dizzyquiltsandsews2 жыл бұрын
Hi Lynn! Good point about the fabric. This cotton jersey feels less “substantial” than a lot of other ones I’ve sewn with but the next fabric I’m going to use is a bamboo jersey and it is lighter and has more stretch so we’ll see what the results are. I won’t mind if it feels a tad bigger. 😀

Love the cut and colour, you are Oh so close :) "Lost my Thread" did a Tee comparison that is fun . . I always manage to make myself happy with my tees, but it takes so many redo's to get there. I just bought the new Helen's Closet Dawson top (tee) to test for a TNT top :) PS A slightly too tight Tee looks great under a Blackwood cardi !And a loose bottom hem can become fitted with a half tuck if you like that look .

Thank you! You are so right - this tee will look great under a black cardigan for the cooler months. Good luck with the Dawson! 😀

Hi Isabelle Jean, I am so glad to find this video! I am just about to embark on my first knit garment (even though I’m a seasoned sewist) and I am going to make the Concord Tee. The best thing of all is you are almost identical size to me so this video was even more helpful! I am 39” high bust, 45” full bust, 42” waist, and 47” hip. I too have a narrow shoulder, which has caused more fit problems for me along with necklines that are too big. I am short, 5’ 1” so I am always having to take quite a bit off the length. I’m so glad to hear your review with your experience on the size. I am doing a practice toile first so I will try the 18 - 20 sizing and see what I think. I have just subscribed to your channel here and I am now following you on IG. Could we be fit buddies? 😊

Hi Karen! I'm so glad you found me and that the video was helpful. The Concord is a great pattern and very easy to sew. With a high bust of 39, you might be good with a size 16 but go for the GH cup. I would love for you to let me know how it goes. And yes! I'll be your fit buddy LOL
