My Rider HS of Wichita Falls, Texas, A Cappella Choir sang this same hymn arrangement by Paul Christiansen back in 1972 and performed it on tour in the National Cathedral of Mexico in Mexico City. Always has been one of my most favorite hymns and concert memories. Thank you!

I knew a guy who was a Rider HS grad from the early 80's. He and I got to sharing stories about our HS choir experience and found that Rider and my HS in Houston (Memorial) both had choir directors who were formed in the St. Olaf/Concordia tradition. We wore robes, sang all of this music, including this PJ Christiansen arrangement, and ended our concerts with Beautiful Savior, as y'all did at Rider. My director's name was Coloma Lafferty. She was a Texan but discovered the Paul J. Christiansen choral camps early in her career as a band director and switched to choral music. We had at least 200 kids in a choral program of 4 choirs and a career that spanned 40 years. Very cool that we share this heritage.

I was in the Concordia Choir when Paul J penned this arrangement. We read it from xerox copies with his handwriting. He wrote it for the 1971 King of Kings Christmas Concerts. It had a baritone solo with the choir humming originally. Kind of miss that here.
