My excitement is mounting! You’re almost ready to move in-actually today is April 1st so that means as I write this comment you’re already moved in and enjoying your new home. Yaaay! I totally agree with these comments below. Just beautiful and representative of your family. You need to restart the clock...2 years from move in date. Soon you will be fishing on your boat and hunting. We have a log cabin in our family and it's passed down to the next generation....it's the family heirloom and is still being used. I must admit when you were carrying in the stove....I wanted to scream...No....your back!!! Oh do take care of that back!! I know you were pinched on time.

Just a suggestion, but instead of pouring the acid wash on to faux finish, some artist brushes from Michael's, and painting them on would probably have given you the effect you were looking for. FYI for your next project.

Everything is looking good but instead of acid etch ok h, I would have tried painting with acrylic paint, using a fine brush to lightly put in the veins then seal. That brown of the veins is startling! But still looks pretty good. You and the boys have really gained some new skills on this build!!! 😍😍😍😍😍

You should be using a Turkey feather to do the veining. Wiggle it slightly/gently, can apply pressure to flatten it a bit for a larger size then let it go to back into regular shape for the thinner veining.
