Great job David, Doug, James and Luis! 💪💕👏👍 came out killer. Just regular spray paint for blacktop? I did a concrete patch on ashphault once where we had cut in for plumbing fix and we used that powder dye you put on top. Came out nice

It was a dead valve. When they replaced the lateral, they went to the front yard with a new meter

The boxes looked like irrigation system. It looks like they were likely originally in a grassy area, and either the developer squeezed that last house into the lot, or the driveway was widened through the former grassy area. It makes sense, given that is the same area that failed (done by a different crew, under different conditions, at a different time as the rest). EDIT: My theory is that the storm sewer catch basin in the blacktop has an issue and is eroding the area around it.
