(Concrete Leveling or Mudjacking with Poly Foam. Which is Better?)

There are two known processes of concrete leveling known as mudjacking and poly foam to raise concrete slabs. At Concrete Chiropractor®: (www.concretech...) We are frequently asked "what is better? mudjacking or foam?" for the concrete raising process.
There are a few reasons why mudjacking may be considered better than foam jacking in certain situations:
Mudjacking and foam jacking are two common methods used to level sunken concrete slabs. Mudjacking involves drilling holes into the concrete slab and injecting a mixture of sand, cement, and water (also known as "slurry") underneath to lift it back into place. Foam jacking, on the other hand, uses an expanding foam to raise the slab.
Strength: Mudjacking slurry is a mix of sand, cement, and water, which creates a more stable and long-lasting base than foam. The mudjacking mixture hardens and becomes a solid base, while foam can be subject to compression and may break down over time.
Cost: Mudjacking is generally less expensive than foam jacking. Mudjacking requires fewer materials and less equipment, which can lead to lower costs overall.
Environmental impact: Mudjacking uses natural materials (sand, cement, and water), while foam jacking uses chemicals. Mudjacking is generally considered a more environmentally friendly option.
Precision: Mudjacking allows for more precise leveling. Mudjacking can be done in smaller increments, making it easier to achieve an exact level. Foam jacking is more likely to result in a slight over-correction or under-correction due to the nature of the expanding foam.

While the addition of the poly foam product to existing business operation would be an easy choice, our research has convinced us that the product offers no significant benefit and comes with an added liability to our customers, employees and environment.
