Props to concrete instructor teaching the concrete trade. Good cement finishers are built one pour at a time and it takes alot of pouring and finishing days in days out, yr in yr out to be a journeyman. It’s a true journey and with that comes real respect from the other trades also I used to be one of those apprenntices 35 yrs ago Local 300

Hey bro cool videos I'm a journeyman carpenter from local 1977 las vegas I've had the chance to pour and vibrate concrete but out here all the laborers do that work but I thought it was a cool job and I would like to learn these skills. Is there a local masons union in Las Vegas?

Why do they have finish trowels hanging off of their tool belt during the pour? Seen a guy get sliced doing that shit leave them in the beginning of the pour babe.

Shuteman : Cmon get in here i want more guys in my way! And put some more tools on your belts you will look like proffessionals,dont forget to strap a tamp,fresno,and bullfloat to your back ok! Goofy video, why not pour both bays at same time,no need to go back and forth with the truck! Typical instructor,book smart,knows how to whistle and yell,but obviously never worked production! A good shoot man shouldnt need shovel men especially on a short rod! He should fan the mud off the end of the shoot with four fingers down! Just my opinion! A good shoot man can make the crew look good, or bad! Cracks me up when he has to help the mud out of the shute,guess not enough gravity in the mix! Lol!

That hand in the cement shoot is very power hungry and it's sad cuz the guys trying to learn get nerved up with shit like that or having to be around whistling.. I can understand using your hands maybe twice to shovel by a wall line to level but I have never seen anything like pulling up and then down with your hands. Which I'm sure he has a fucking ven diagram of why hands are best. shovel is only needed to clean the shoot. Oh and the hard trowel pouchs... you won't need hard trowels any time soon so why it make it harder to move and bend? It'll get ya sliced up. Good change of losing them. I can imagine how uncomfortable that shit would be. Ha to each their own atleast these guys are learning from someone who takes this very seriously. No disrespect to nobody

Throwing the mud out of the shoot helps make flat. But the whistling would drive me nuts. Telling guys get in here,,than get out of the way.. then get of your knees , then whistling.. no way hose A.. chill out let people do their job..
