I just destroyed a car tire this morning and can’t immediately afford a replacement. So I’m watching Concrete with the Hauses to perk myself up (of course with my morning coffee)! ☕️ 🍩 🛞 ☺️

I'm so glad Mike Morgan got you to start your own channel, I've learned a lot from not only watching you, but hearing your thought process, comment & how you solve problems as well as avoid them by thinking 4 or 5 steps ahead. You have great workers and this is so far ahead of what's normally seen on other jobs I've been on over the past 50 years! You are concrete artists! I think you should change your title to Concrete Art With the Hauses! LOL

Finally I have something to say. I’m 81 and if I were carrying a try of drinks or whatever I would need that top step to be a few more inches out to be able to get my bearings to make ready for my first step down. I would be able to turn around without my shoulders hitting the door. Us older folks need wider platforms to gracefully take that next step. I know it’s not the case here, but I’d be having y’all install some type of banister also. In my younger years I could have danced down those steps,,,,maybe not now though.😢 y’all do beautiful work!

Hey Tom, did you talk to your son about his feeling so angry? Some times we just don't know how far someone has been pushed. I had a temper problem when I was young, nobody knew how bad it really was. I'd hate to see something bad happen to your boy. I love your channel Tom, you and your crew do great work.

I love the look of the stone cut on step and patio faces. The same with the raw edge on wood tables, etc. Tom, family and crew, y’all set the standard in concrete. No one in my area could ever compare, and that’s why I will leave my driveway as asphalt. I abhor spending big money and be disappointed in the end product. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! 😊

Wish you were in my area. Got burned by the concrete contractor this last summer. Got about 75% with the job. He Showed up one day , demanded more money above and beyond the agreed contracted signed bid or he was walking off the job. I reluctantly paid him more. He worked that day. His work was sloppy that day. Then he never came back to finish. I am personally finishing the retaining wall and a few other areas. I am already having major cracking issues on the driveway extension. And when the forms were pulled off, he was 3.5 inches higher than the end of the original driveway. He was supposed to meet up with the old driveway (which will eventually get replaced). But nope. Your videos are great. Thanks.

When we laid a concrete drive at our previous house some 37 years ago, my cousin, who worked for the local concrete company advised me to water the concrete every day for the following week both to cool and slow down the curing process....I drive past it quite a few times and it's all still intact.

Tom y’all have one hell’uva crew and ur concrete work is outta this world. I see a lot concrete poured every year and I haven’t seen a company that would even come close to y’all yet. There’s one outfit that I see a lot shouldn’t even be allowed to pour concrete they raid lumber outta the roll off boxes to make their screed boards and it’s so wet that it self levels it self

Way back when I was a kid we had a boys group at church to supposedly learn about missions. Back in the church basement there was a small table saw. The leaders thought it would be a good idea for us to cut some small boards (1x3) and make a cross. Unfortunately for the leaders, it turned into a mass sword fight between all the boys with “crosses”. 🤦‍♂️😂😂

I have learned a lot from you and wish you was on years ago when I did my steps. I have seen to many video's where they use to wet of concrete and trowel it while it has puddles of water on top like I did. If I would have done the concrete like you do I would have not had my top layer delaminate on my landing which all can see.

I was wondering what they were going to do for a railing... and then you mentioned they want to attach one directly to the side of those steps... but that seems like it would put a lot of stress on that concrete, wouldn't it? I'd think it would be more likely to crack if someone really has to rely on that railing. Is there a solution for that?

What do you think of a job where a driveway was poured - chalk lines on garage side footing where concrete should have been - slanting down to the floor level at the door for drainage, they didn't follow but went too high and didn't slant down to the door, then had to make a downward slant from the edge of the garage to the start of the door where it was supposed to be flat, and screeded a hump in the concrete out from the garage about 2' more than they already went too high, only bull floated no hand floating afterward, finish bad in some areas, have some puddling next to the garge where it's not flat. Is this considered a proper job / these kind of deviations normal? Or is this a bad job that they should fix or not be paid for? (Don't trust the same company to re-do.) Aksing for input in how to consider this.

I watched you on my TV this morning. Comments help your algorithm, so I'll always comment. Got to keep my favorite channel going!! I gave you a plug on OWTM this morning. About rolling the mini excavator. His youngest, Eva, is learning to operate his machines. I hope she watches yours. Lol, you noticed the new track buggies looking used - the pace TSH moves, that new is gone in hours, not even days!! I thought Caleb sanding a spear, emulating his heroes on TV was funny! I've all my family's pictures since they're gone, and there's dozens of me w a cowboy outfit and six gun on my side!!! The patio turned out as expected, beautiful. Again, I feel the time pressure happening. How bad it would be if it didn't get stamped in time! Somehow, I doubt TSH has experienced that. It always feels good to see a man taking care of his equipment!! The liners used over a thousand times. There's the proof right there that it's definitely worth the time and effort. Even when the crew is on a waterless site, the tools and equipment get cleaned. The steps in the hill sure are long. The hand rails will help a lot. Thanks, Tom, really nice video. 👍❤️🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸
