Condensation. A "chill" feature on a Monday

Wow. Aberdeen Market razed to the ground. Still getting used to that.

It was like that when I got to the city, but it is part of the "revitalization" that they are apparently doing. Haven't seen much work done on it until recently, despite being blocked off for over a year. Not sure how it will look in the end, but hopefully I get to document the changes as they happen.

looking at this again I can’t shake the feeling that a lush green park (instead of a building) might be the best one could do in terms of urban planning - but, knowing Aberdeen, that’s off the table already … and, were they to go down that road, said park would be taken over by local neds within days. So, perhaps best, if it becomes yet another faceless shopping centre. What do I care? I left 22 years ago…

@@bigmiket the park idea had been mentioned according to some people I spoke to, as a continuation of what was also proposed across from Marischal College. I think a bit of green would look nice there as well, especially as it would be nestled in the recessed area with businesses surrounding it and Market Street behind. We'll have to see what it comes to once the building is done, but I expect that is going to take longer than originally planned.

The chill feature is so frustrating, yet they must keep to their timetables. That huge empty space where market was, still gives a shock to see.

It actually took me a bit to find what was there before. When I arrived, I didn't know anyone, so it took a bit of time to learn about the market that stood there. It was a video on YT that had some old pictures of Aberdeen that came up on my page that showed me what once stood there. We'll have to see how this all comes to pass and hopefully it will turn out to be a decent replacement that results.

It was a handy spot, lots of different types of shops, including butcher, fishmongers etc. @scottg2754 Let's hope they have something decent planned , I haven't looked at the City plans yet.
