The water hose landing on the handle at the end had me dying. If I had a dollar for every time that's happened to me. Great video.

What a great job here. Very well done. Reminds me of when I used to rebuild carburetors working for my Dad in the 70's. I need to do this to my Ruud package unit. This will help me get that done. Stay safe and best wishes!

Great video! You and a few more KZbinrs are convincing me I should do some of this work myself. The company I am paying for this has never done more than wash the outside of the unit. Yup, I need to have my heat exchanger looked at so I don't kill everyone, but some of this is no different than car maintenance. I will not do gas joints or other people's brakes, though.
@carguy4sp2 жыл бұрын
If you cleaned my package unit that good there would definitely be a good tip involved. The last time mine was cleaned all the tech was interested in was selling me a mold light, a new unit because mine has r22 and he sprayed acid all over the outside of my unit and did not rinse it off so I had to go behind him and clean all the acid and wipe down the whole inside it was a mess. Thanks for your good work.

I've become convinced that homeowners and facilities maintenance guys don't know what a month is. Because they always changed the filter two months ago, and it always looks like it's been two years. I just had to pull 4 pounds of 22 out of a system because it was freezing up and they didn't even check airflow the last four times they had someone out to look at it...
@HVACTechKnowledgy2 жыл бұрын
That's crazy! I just don't understand why with all this cheap and available technology out here there are people still trying to charge systems without using superheat and or subcooling...

Can a blocked condenser cause evaporator freezing? I did change the filter after I found ice on the return line at the evaporator coils. Filter wasn't to dirty. I ran fan only for a few hours but maybe there was still ice blocking airflow and it froze up again. Then I pruned bushes by the condenser to create an alley for cool air to enter this condenser in a right corner facing south with a nearby condenser. If felt the air going up and hitting the stucco and seeming to just return back down and I've measured 120 air going into the coils. On 100f days. I have thought about making a deflector shield mounted on top on the condenser lid to send the gir air away from the wall. Anyway this pruning and filter change has resulted in no freezing for 3 days of similar temps and humidity. It doesn't make sense that poor condenser airflow would cause freezing rather than a hitter evaporator.

Inherited a 28 yr old house in Texas. Not original systems 1st and 2nd floor systems, but not new either. The smaller 2.5 ton went out and I’m trying to get it all cleaned. Definitely hasn’t had anyone look at it ina couple years…but trying to clean or even look at anything in 105 degree heat AND an attic is horrible. I’m wishing I could get this thing out of the attic and be able to spray it! Lol thanks for the video

Question please: With regard to the "rust" thats on the blower fan blades, would it be better to replace the fan blades with a new one? For my Ruud unit, it's about $75 for a new one. Am I loosing efficiency by leaving the original one on that looks like the one you're working on?
@HVACTechKnowledgy Жыл бұрын
As long as the rust isn't caked on it should be fine.

Mine unit needs a good cleaning alot of dust on the blower wheel but my house doesn't have an outdoor water hose is it still possible to have a good cleaning without one from a professional
@HVACTechKnowledgy Жыл бұрын
Yes definitely possible it's just whether you're prepared to do the work you're going to have to pull that blower in order to clean it properly meaning pull it out of the unit completely and disassemble the squirrel cage and motor assembly but it's not too bad a job

It's actually strapped to my head. I think I just had it adjusted a bit high on this video. I use a DJI pocket 2. I really like the setup, just pretty delicate as It has a built-in motorized gimbal for image stabilization.

I've been trying to get my EPA Universal License, but Mainstream Engineering makes it impossible to get it simply, The centers they mention have no idea what i'm talking about when i mention that their building's have been labeled a testing center. I ask online and they direct me to the same buildings which is very infuriating because they got nothing else to offer for help. Where did you get your Universal CPA License?

A comment and then a question: Your videos are very informative, but they would be 5x better if you could either speak up or use a high gain mic close up. Now the question- do you work for Airtron? If yes, what insight can you give about them? If no, do you have any comments about them from experience or others?
@HVACTechKnowledgy2 жыл бұрын
Hey definitely appreciate the feedback, I'm always looking for ways to improve the quality of my content. I have noticed the mic on my camera doesn't do well in loud environments so I will be looking into lavalier mic solution to up the quality in a bit. And no I don't work for Airtron. Sorry I don't really know much about them to have an opinion.
