Owners want WiFi thermostats so that they can monitor and control the usage when guests are staying there. Keeps them from abusing the system by setting temps too high or too low.

I’ve recently started dealing with these new gen nest thermostats and they are absolute garbage!! No proper installer settings on the thermostat, terrible scheduling, and controls are just idiotic.

If the 45/5 uF new cap you installed was the correct value why did the "Super Cap" need to stay in place? Just curious...thanks Curtis, great way to spend an afternoon learning about HVAC!

It was li,ley installed because the compressor was having trouble. It don’t hurt to leave it.

The first time I ran into this thermostat in the field it confused me too. I saw you touching the screen and feeling around the edges of as well. That particular thermostat is not at all touch screen it has about a 2 inch strip on the right side edge that you slide your finger up and down to scroll menu options and change temperature. To select or click on something you tap the strip. I love your channel I watch your videos every morning with my coffee keep up the good work brother👍🏻

A lot of it depends on the owner's budget situation, what all else maybe wrong with the unit and how hardheaded they may be.
