Conditional Expectation

The funny thing is ... after all these courses and lectures I had all I needed was that sentence in the start to really understand what conditional expectation means..

Its weird how math works like that sometimes, but i think its probably more of a.crystallization thing than that the sentence was profound. Its because you previously put all that work in that the sentence was able to crystallize so well. Really a great feeling, i agree.

there are 3 possible combinations knowing the sum of the rolls is 10 (4&6, 5&5, 6&4) and each is equally likely, so the probabilities are 1/3.

oh if you mean the exponential example its bc for exponential distribution, e[X]=1/lambda and lambda=3
