I typed my first comment before finishing the video. I’d like to add that your tribute to Jake was touching. The reefing world lost a big figure when Jake left. Thanks for remembering him.

You have the most beautiful tanks ever. Such an inspiration I would love to have tanks that look that good. I've been struggling keeping sps alive for a few years now. I started the barebottom dry rock route and should have waited until coralline was growing all over the tank... now that it is I have no problems. Most people leave out the tank maturity aspect, especially to new hobbyists.

I am only a year in but I feel like I have gained as much knowledge as possible from your channel and a few others. The professional diy aspect to your approach is what inspires me most. I ended up drilling my rocks and used plastic golf tees for the stems which has been working amazingly. I love the option of moving my sps to better spots and the ability to pick them up for inspection or dipping. Although I’m new my main display is 3 years old which allows me to have success with sps. Thank you for your contributions. You have a lifelong fan and follower.

Abe, I've been on KZbin since it's inception, didn't sign up for an account until later, but this is the best Acropora video on KZbin. Incredible, Incredible specimens and I'm at a loss for words except, Congratulations! I'm my 30 years of saltwater and Reefing, I would compare Reefing to life and college. It's very hard the first couple of years in college. Just getting used to the schedule and knowing if you truly want to be successful, then it's up to you to decide how hard you want to work and how steadfast you are. This video is proof, if you want it bad enough and you put in the early, and continuous effort, results will pay off. Time passes fast and 4, 6, 8, 10 years in college seems like a lifetime when you're young. Wasted years you think. Well think about the next 50 years, do you want to live a good life and be successful? Then those 4 to 10 years up front were WELL worth it. Same with Reefing, take it slow and steady, ignore distractions and impulses, don't panic, and perservere. 5 years down the road if you stick with it, you may be making this same type of video. Abe, you're an inspiration to all rookie to expert Reefers. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your time.

I appreciate you for your simplicity and the way you present the hobby that you love, above selling corals, you are a simple hobbyist! Thank you for encouraging people to go halides. Every type of light will give it's results and play with it's physics' aspects and halides will give one of the most amazing results IMO! Distribution of the light will also depend on so many aspects like the fixture's size and design, distance from the tank and dimensions as we know. Halides are unique for their rich spectrum offering strong intensity in a safe way from ultra violet to infra red. And the glitter lines... crazy and beautiful! Every one loves it! That "crowd pleaser" tank is amazing! Halides rule! I noticed since the beginning your hat and loved to see your respect for Jake at the end. This life goes too fast! We have to enjoy every second we can. Thanks for the time you took to share such great images and knowledge to this new generation! I have some questions: 1) Do you regret having to share the mineral supplementation with coralline algae? 2) Did you notice also that bare bottom is avoiding STN or RTN? What other tips in that regard, as an update? 3) Any bacterial dosages? 4) What you are doing for water changes? 5) Still offering some aminos here and there? Gotta love ACROS! Thanks, Abe!
@CoralEuphoria2 жыл бұрын
1) not really. more aggressive algaes can likely use them up to a greater extent 2) i haven't had a sand bed in 13 years so I haven't nothing to compare to 3) no 4) red sea coral pro but I am transitioning back to reef crystals currently 5) no, I don't think they make a big enough difference or any difference to counter the algae problems that come up when I do dose it
@Alex_Correa2 жыл бұрын
@@CoralEuphoria I agree to all. Love coralline cause they take the surfaces and prevent other ugly algae. I also use Reef Crystals. there are some precipitations, but generally good.Yup, aminos will give some help when lighting isn't enough or the system is new, but after a while it doesn't make too much of a difference. The algae problem happens only if the dosage is higher than it should be and is specially true to couple brands, I noticed. Thanks for answering. All the best!

That sump has a ATO and some live rock too! You make it look so easy, thank you for the videos.
@CoralEuphoria2 жыл бұрын
Well yeah every reef tank needs an ATO. I assumed that would be a no brainer. And BTW it is a gravity-fed $8 float valve. The rock rubble has only been in there 6 months and is insignificant since I have a lot of liverock in the tank and will likely be taken out since it's getting nasty. This video was not meant to be a detailed description of my systems. That video would have been at least 30 minutes long. I have to strike a balance between giving details and keeping an audience interested.

Your corals are out of this world - and so are your videos. Please keep sharing, it really is such a pleasure to see whenever you release a new video or give a new interview. You are a library!! The flow is really strong but how do you find tune to get the perfect waves for all your tanks? Do they run like that all day? Do you use a wave box? And what so you use to set up a program for your pumps?
