The noise pollution here can be horrific as well, depending on where you live (touristy areas).

Once I was in Sri Lanka partying and water skiing, drinking puneapple cocktails on the beach, next minute, there were tanks rolling into town and people being beheaded !!

Main issue with all my many long term trips in Thailand: it’s hot as fuck. It’s humid. Mosquitoes. No dry climate. No desert. No mountain hikes. No places without people around. It’s awesome but gets old quick.

Agreed. You're the face of common sense ! I will add the following, when considering which country to go to as an ex-pat. > Thailand, is on the other side of the world !! How quickly can you return to The UK, for a family emergency, funeral or medical NHS treatment ? Long distance flights can be £800 or much more, if it's "last minute". > Political stability. Having lived in many places around the world, I know that beaches and palm trees, one minute, can suddenly change, the next minute. It happened to me recently in PNG. Foreigners and NGO's were ransacked, raped, robbed and murdered. It was a blood bath. It only takes a very small thing, to set it off, such as a tourist gang raping locals, or something bad, like that, then they all turn against you, even if you have nothing to do with it. Historically, it has happened in the Far East before; in Vietnam, Laos, Burma, Indonesia, etc. Even two weeks ago, here in The UK, where peaceful towns and villages, were suddenly a war-zone. > Religion Chose your country wisely. Friendly; then if say The UK government supports a country, which is not a friend of the country that you're in, then you become a target. Like Taiwan ex-pats, Hong Kong ex-pats and S.African, Zimbabwa, Kenyan, (Russians & Israelis being targeted, in OTHER countries). Things can change VERY quickly. I could go on......... don't put all your money in the adopted country's bank. Keep some elsewhere aswell.

Good lord, always good to see positive comments!! 😯🤣🤣🤣😕 You lived in Sri Lanka and PNG then wonder why things turned sour? 🤔🤣🤣 Two of the most notorious countries on earth for civil war and violence, then mentioned Burma and African countries where war and violence are constant. Blimey, why not just go to nice safe countries in the first place. 🤦 I'm from the UK and moved to Thailand and Vietnam in 2016 and love it, no issues, cheap as chips, great people and safer than any town or city in the 3rd world UK now. Thailand healthcare is in another league to the appalling NHS and as for religion, the UK is rapidly becoming an Isl*mist hellscape, so good luck with that. I'll never return to the UK to live, it's finished, it's over, just like all of the major English speaking countries, their time is done. The West is collapsing and the East is rising, good luck 🥳🥳
