Picked this up a couple of months ago. Couldn't be happier with it. I've done all kinds of simple bushcraft tasks with it, processed food, cleaved firewood... I have a sinking suspicion that most of the negative reviews come from people who have absolutely no idea how to regularly maintain their equipment.

Can’t wait for the delivery of my Condor Talon. I will carry it with my Condor K-Tac Kukri. Both have green Micarta scales and comes in Kydex sheaths. I watched your video to give me an idea on what to expect and it served it’s purpose well. At sixty I’m getting into bushcrafting a bit late, but after taking early pension I had to get into a few things to keep the mind and body going. Resurrecting my days of hiking as a student and getting my Trangia stove and wood chip stove from the garage, together with my Silky saw, axe, etc. I am looking forward to get into the outdoors. Good honest review and good skills although you did draw a little blood there. For sure it's a knife I would recommend any budget bushcrafter. And Condor has a wide range of very useful blades. I prefer my Rodan over the BK2

It doesn't come with a coating on the spine. Just on the sides. Mine didn't do well striking a ferro rod because the spine wasn't sharp enough and it does use a slightly softer steel than something like 1095. Condor can be hit and miss with QC at times but that's expected for the price you pay. No biggie for me. But it's an easy fix to square off the spine if you wanted to do that. For me, I absolutely hate using my knife to strike a rod. Never got the obsession with that. I always have my striker attached to my ferro rod.
