I've been looking at this blade for a bit. What's your opinion of it so far. Love the background blades and armor.

I personally think its like all Condor stuff really nicly made! this scabard is a little bit fragile on the entry part where the blade enters, But over all I think it's whorth the money!

Just subbed! Adrian Von Ziegler one my favorite soundtracks for YT vids. Hahaha . I thought my Amalgam from Joe Flowers ( sounds like a porn name ) was badass, lol. After watching the crusader do the propeller moves with it, I can see it is well balanced and nimble enough to defend against zombie bushes and shrubbery!

How would you say the balance feels, compared to a katana? I'm trying to decide between the Yoshimi, and the slightly less expensive Condor Makara. From what I can tell, the yoshimi has a slightly thicker blade, in terms of spine thickness. I'm trying to find something that I can use for some 2 handed cutting practice.
@TheCrusader10992 жыл бұрын
the yoshimi is really nicely made! balance feels good. sheath and handle is high quality...i am very happy with it. the makara also looks nice...i think it depends on your taste...the yoshimi is more tactical then the makara for sure...only for cutting i would go with the makara...tactical for bug out and so on the yoshimi....

I've been looking at the two of these as well. Although my purpose is that I want a machete which I can choke up on to use 1 handed, use 2 handed for big chopping, or hold one handed near the end of the handle for huge reach on grass/weeds clearing. In many ways, the Makara seems a little more perfect for my purposes (in terms of metal shape). But the handle on the Makara leaves MUCH to be desired. The Yoshimi has a dramatically more durable handle. Also the makara is 3.5mm, the yoshimi is 4.5mm. Obviously thicker is more durable, but also more of a calorie burn when clearing light vegetation. I will say that the angle-grind on the Yoshimi is very blunt. I would consider taking a grinder to it, to give it more of a taper to the edge area. Would give it better cutting performance. But as-is it looks like an incredibly _durable_ edge. Just perhaps too durable to cut well. I think on the Yoshimi I'd want to grind in the sides of the handle some around the middle pin, to create a double palm-swell. And add a bit of material on the finger-side of the tang around the middle and last pin to create a little bit of the leverage of a recurved handle. Then give it a wrap for extra grip & dampening. Truth be told, my 'ideal' would be a zombie tools reaver cleaver, but at around 4mm thick (instead of 6.3mm), and about 2.25 lbs (instead of 3.65 lbs). Also, ideally, not $500 (though you get what you pay for, usually). The reaver cleaver can turn a station wagon into a convertible... the durability is insane. But I'd rather lose a pound and a half, with the understood caveat that it'd no longer be _completely_ indestructible ;) Profile wise though, and build quality wise, it's perfect.

@@kathrynck so, after having grabbed a makara and it's new shorter brother, the mid makara, I would highly suggest giving the bigger guy a shot :)

@@TheCrusader1099 thank you for responding! Quick question,do you feel the handle is slightly slimmer then the condor makara? I wouldn’t mind that being that I own the he makara and it’s slightly on the thick side.thank you again!👊🏼
