90 degrees Parking - How to Correct Yourself

In a previous video ( • How To: Easy Parking 9... ), I showed you how to park backing up 90 degrees (bay parking). Now if everything goes perfectly, meaning you started with the right distances, all the other cars are well aligned in their lines, everything will be alright. But sometimes things just do go as smoothly as we’d like them to go. So here’s how to correct the situation when parking 90 degrees backwards.
For any info:
My website: www.conduitefacile.com
Gmail: conduitefacilevideos@gmail.com
Facebook: / conduitefacilevideos
Twitter: / conduitefacile
If you're too close to the car on the right, turn the wheel to the left to get a wider angle. Remember, you always turn the wheel to the side you want to go, be it going forward or backing up. So in this case, since we want to distance ourselves from the car on the right, we want to go to the left, so we turn the wheel to the left. The closer you are to the car on the right, the more you want to turn your wheel. Then, when you have enough distance from the car on the right, check your side mirror to get a good indication of the distance. Now this is one of those cases where looking in the mirrors will help you a lot more than looking behind with your head turned. You’ll have a lot better idea of the distance between your car and the other one by looking in the mirror as opposed to looking back with your head turned. Then, when you have a safe distance, which should be at least two feet, turn the wheel completely to the right to reposition the car, and back up until you’re straight.
If you're too close to the car to the left, there's not much you can do with the steering wheel since it's already turned completely to the right. The only option left, is to go forward. So what you'll need to do in this case, is to advance like if you were going to park in the parking spot in front of you. Turn the wheel completely to the left and align your car between the lines in front. In most parking lots, the Lines are aligned, so you know that if your car is well aligned between the lines of the parking spot in front, if you back up really straight, you'll also be all aligned in your parking. So now what you have to do is hold your wheel mostly straight and back up as straight as possible, correcting a bit if needed. If the parking spot in front of you is not empty, turn the wheel completely to the right, advance a bit, then turn it to the left and again, advance as much as you can, and repeat these steps as much as needed until the car is straight, then hold the wheel straight and back up until you fit in the spot.
Hope you liked this video, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask them in the comments. Thanks for watching.

My instructor keeps confusing me. It almost feels like she wants me to fail the test so I keep on paying for more classes. It is so frustrating. I am on the verge of tears somedays. Cant thank you enough for your lessons. Not everyone is a TEACHER. You are. May God bless you Sir.

Unfortunately we live in a society where making a buck is more important than ethics. My guess, you picked a bad driving instructor. Please don't get discouraged if you failed your driving test. Again it's who you may get as an examiner. I've known ppl who has done worse & passed than their previous failed attempt(s). This is a business after all. Some may even shout at you & make you feel like you did something illegal & act like you were going to cause a collision. These are tactics used to keep their quota on how many they need to fail (the more they fails, the more money is generated). Don't let them see your nervousness or fear cause before you even start, in their mind they've already failed you. Good luck!

@@juki3451 Thank you so much Ju Ki. You are a kind person. And yes, I actually went through instructors trying to misguide me, even intentionally trying to confuse me by shouting, being rude, talking on the phones during the entire lesson etc. It was horrible. Thankfully, these videos by Conduit Facile helped a lot and I had some prior driving experience which helped me. I had a fair examiner and I passed the test. But the driving lesson experiences were most unpleasant. Unprofessional and mean spirited. Horrible how some people just have no conscience. I know business is business, but taking advantage or harming people for money, that's downright evil. Sorry, I just have very strong emotions about this. I am a bit of a shy, non confrontational person and I feel some sickos find it easier to take advantage of people like me. Thanks again for your words of encouragement. Although, the ordeal is over, your words still mean a lot.

And all that I can say is the following....Damn, that was sweet. I line up so perfectly I was beside myself with joy. I had to repeat it once more it felt that good. My wife was well impressed and she does not drive. I felt such a complete driver for those 30 seconds or so. So glad that guys like you exist. Conduite Facile Plus, I've always had a fear of driving from an accident as a kid. Was riding in a van with a lot of people. Suddenly we ran into a car with a woman and her mother who had just left the hospital. I was sitting on the driver's side of the van and saw the driver's mother's hand shaking with broken glass and blood on her hand. It was considered as a minor accident but to this day as an adult I still cannot rid myself of this memory. (The person who ran into this lady's car, the driver of the van, was male. Bad driving knows no gender.)

My problem was, I didn't leave enough length & needed to pull up much forward (which if you have a car in front...hard to do) to correct my position. Thanks for the video, I learned a lots from all your videos ,I just passed my G2test after fell 2 times , I did 3 test on Kitchener test center all turned left from the gate out, I did big fell one time is on the neighbourhood is 40 kilometres I went 50, so you have to really check you speed every 5second , and back test the street is 50 I start from red light to green lights then it goes 55, it fell too, second test fell on parallel step 3 turn all the wheel to the left hit the pavement, we need really watching the right side mirror, or you have cameras you can peek 45 degrees, then you should not hit it (you turn like 30 degrees is the car is same size like you you gonna hit pavement later)

I watched your videos and passed my New York state road test (I passed the test in one try)!!! I used your videos for parallel parking and not my instructor's instructions as the instructor's way of doing it was so needlessly complicated. I would definitely advise anyone taking the road test in NYC to watch your videos. By the way, you cannot pass the New York state road test if you can't demonstrate a near-perfect parallel parking and doing a clean 3-point turn. Thank you for your videos!

My instructor taught me all these kind of rules and theories- I learnt and passed...now, I don't even remember that and still can park perfectly - practice makes you perfect - you can't learn these things by just WATCHING....

Parking is the most important point of ur driving skills, It reveals a lot of the driver attitude 👍🏽 By the way the driver in the car was looking backward by turning his head while that thing is not good for ur neck, looking at mirrors is enough for the professionals

We are aware that turning your head too much might be bad for you but in this case you will just turn your head for a while, it wont damage a thing in your body. Let us try not to exaggerate things here.

Mr. Chenggoy I am a consultant physiotherapist my friend and we don’t need to exaggerate but these are facts , if u get to used to turn ur neck every time u park it can progress chronic neck pain with other bad life style Hope a healthy body for all
