Sincerely appreciate these videos! 29 & just relearning to drive again. Survived a fatal car accident the summer after HS (was scheduled to do my driver's test that year) because the driver was texting while driving as we exited the freeway. It's been a decade of conquering trauma through EMDR therapy, journaling, an online driving refresher course, & slowly driving independently again. The next step now is to practice entering/exiting freeways. Thank you.

I was reacting to a dumb video of a biker complaining to a cop because a lady had crossed "his" lane, and I found your video to get more info about how things work in US (I'm french). And at 3:08 you gave me confirmation that lane merging being complicated, sometime the best way to behave is to let others enough place to merge, instead of rejecting the fault on them just because "they don't know how to merge". And the rest of the video is incredibly wise and rich of good informations. Congratulation for the intelligence here.

What if you're going full speed but the car(s) won't let you pass and you are nearing the end of the acceleration lane?
@jaroslavnemec2894 жыл бұрын
This does not happen so often, because the cars already driving on the highway know you want to merge and they will have to either move to the left lane or slow down to make a space for you. It they don't they will have to deal with you anyway. Anyways, if you are at the end of the merging lane and there is no space for you, continue if it is possible and merge afterwards. But before you get to this unpleasant situation, check the traffic on the highway as soon as you can, so that you can adapt your speed and choose yourself a place there. If you do so, the chances of getting to the unpleasant situation are low.
