Ooh man, I would probably not come back to confession if Padre Pio was alive today. People I urge you; if you want to stop committing the same sin over and over again, pray and fast as long as it takes, it's working for me. But I can not always speak for everyone, pray and fast as much as you can.

She can help it and that's where temptation fades if she gives into it and doesn't try to stop it that's when sin will anger the lord when time and time again you don't try and forgive yourself and stop the behavior Christ has alr sacrificed for our sins they're forgiven but you won't be saved if you don't turn to Christ and being born again out of the sins of your past

I've read that he actually did get quite angry at penitents at times and could be heard yelling from the confessional. He may not have cursed, but maybe it was done to show St. Pio's anger.

@@Steveorino123Words are but descriptions of our feelings using one word vs another to describe the same thing makes no difference and only humans worry about such things do you think is you said dang it or get the hell out that the level of anger or intent of the words? There's no such thing as swear words. Words are inherently evil or good they are what they are just words, it's you who puts value behind them based on your own perception of the situation and or the person speaking those words.

Every body talking about him saying the “f” word. Remember that priests are human too and also the guy just told him he is attracted to his own daughter. Some sins are just more disgusting than others. I’m not saying it’s right but I would say it’s warranted. That’s a very disturbing thing to hear priest or not.

The context of swearing is also important when discerning to what degree it's sinful, if at all. Using the f word to emphasize a point unrelated to sex is totally different than using it to describe sex.

@michaelpryor78 but none the less, a famous exorcist found that the 1st recording of the F word was found in an exorcism, it was formed and spoken by a demon in hell. It’s called cursing because when we curse, it sends out negativity and surrounds us with negative vibrations. Same as a blessing does positive. As a demonologist I spent years researching and participating in the world of prayers of liberation and exorcism. Of course not conducting them but bringing people afflicted by Satan, to Christ Th rough his ministries and sacraments. :)

He told a man to shut up when a man wouldn’t confess all of his sins. Padre Pio would not give him absolution until he confessed all of his sins. could read souls and knew he wasn’t telling the whole truth. He told the man if he leaves this confession and goes to another priest to obtain absolution for sins he wasn’t sorry for then he will go to hell

This is one of the true scenes from Padre Pio’s confession in real life except it was a man, and was in a confessional. God let him see it was Satan and he rebuke with Christs line of “begone Satan” and it was an incredible story. Shia really pulled this off but I wish this film was more focused on Padre Pio.

The actors conversion story is amazing. He started this acting job just as a job. But studying Saint Pio led him to the Gospels and led him to Christ. God can draw great good 3v3n out of darkness

A couple people here are glorifying a man, idolizing a priest in a sense that he is perfect… no one is perfect but God. If you truly believe this saint never had any moments of anger towards another person you are crazy. God bless.

I understand. But we don't believe that they were perfect from the beginning. None one is. All of us are sinners saved by grace. However, we acknowledge the work of God's grace in their lives that transformed them profoundly. Simply, put we acknowledge the grace of God which perfects the nature of men.

I like this scene, but the f word was a little off. A priest would never curse like that. But i think its ok and justified, atleast in the film, since its as if he was speaking to Satan. He was cursing out Satan, not that woman.

At this time in the Church there was NO face to face confession, and Real confession is not like this. She discusses things that are not sins. Feelings .... are not FACTS Sins are facts. I seriously doubt he EVER used the F word. Good for a movie but not very factual. Sad to see.

he is trying to humanized the character so the audience can relate to him. I don't think he would say it but it doesn't bother me since priests aren't perfect. The main thing is show that he trying his best in tough times.

I know very little of Padre Pio but I do know that sometimes some of the most godly people can sometimes be pushed to curse in anger. In this case, a mother LUSTING OVER HER DAUGHTER who can't be more than 13 is definitely something that would warrant rage from the most pious. I mean, the good Padre held it together as long as he could with that demonic woman before losing his temper.

I cannot understand how this is acceptable? If a priest were to behave like this now he could easily be removed from his parish. You don't scream profanities at people under any circumstances but especially not in a pastoral context

@@dookieman718 No one in their right mind would think it appropriate for a priest of the Catholic Church to shout obscenities at someone in a pastoral setting (or, indeed, in almost any setting). I am criticising the filmmakers for depicting a saint as behaving incredibly inappropriately. I think that that should be uncontroversial, unless you think its "ok" for priests to lose their temper and curse at sinners?!

@@bayreuth79 well that priest is a man with his own feelings and actions who would have to take up his transgressions with God in the end the same way we will all have to, you forget Peter, one of The Lords own disciples acted out of anger and even denied The Lord 3 times, even rebuked Him (Matthew 16:22) Judas betrayed Him and fell into despair, in other words we fall short as man, you are putting too much on a man and he is no better nor worse than we. What they portrayed him doing was wrong but not entirely impossible. That is why we put our faith in Christ and not men.
