Perfect morning watch with my coffee! Hand up for being a re-reader and a re-listener(on Audible). While I always have a new book going, I almost always have a re-read going at the same time. And the new book I have going right now (Pillars of the Earth) is going to be a re-read for sure. I love so many things about this book, and there are things I want to research and things I am sure I am missing. Not sure if I will read the second one in the series before reading it again or will just start it over right away. I have a Kindle paperwhite that I have had for, I would say, 12-14 years. If it dies, I won’t replace it. I do like taking it when I fly because it is lighter than hauling books around. What I find is that I really enjoy the feel of a real book in my hands. Like Andrea points out, you can write in them and/or mark areas to go back to. Also easier to flip the page back and re-read if I stop giving my full attention. And while my Kindle only has books, I don’t feel as if I am getting away from technology. Physical books seem to fuel my imagination and inspire me in such a wonderful way. I don’t have any specific reads for this Christmas, although I traditionally read David Copperfield and A Christmas Carol sometime during December. I have been an Audible member for years. I have a lot of books, but probably 10 that I listen to again and again. Not being a great sleeper, Audible is perfect for middle of the night insomnia. I also love having it in the car, but I only put on books I have listened to before so I don’t have to give full attention. I find that a great narrator helps me deal with crazy traffic and a lot of stops if I a doing errands. Andrea, I love your plan of only buying one book at a time from a series. I too remember those days of endless waiting for a package to arrive! What a great idea! Thanks for another fun video🤗

so happy you find some inspiration here - and interesting to know you are a re-reader - its about 50/50 as best I can tell! :) I can see audible helping with insomnia - I have the Calm App and I know one feature I haven't used but is popular is "bedtime stories" where people with really soothing voices read you to sleep. :)

I used to read paperbacks relentless when I was young. At some point free time became so precious, that I am generally doubling up: listening to audiobooks while crafting for example. But I do miss the actual reading and am working on picking it up again. My cookbooks are all paper books. Thanks for another inspiring video. Lots of information to consider.

@@andreabritz4572 OMG!! Paperbacks made me think about my Sidney Sheldon days in my early 20’s also Jackie Collin’s, another woman who was it??? Hmmm and I loved the Sue Graftin “alphabet” mysteries - oh the joy of the 1990’s 😂📚♥️

Another fun episode. I listened while starting a new sweater 😊. I kept a book journal for a few years. I had small pictures of the covers, dates when I read the book, and notes. When it started to feel like homework, I stopped 😅. Now I use The Storygraph to track my reading. I also have a section on my monthly planner pages noting what I am currently reading. I am not a re-reader and I do read on Kindle but only on a Paperwhite so there isn’t the temptation that you get when reading on an app. I look forward to seeing how you use your journal. Enjoy your holiday reading ❤

So happy you enjoyed! I was knitting to knitting podcasts like crazy the last few nights. I’d love to know where (how) you did your little printed book covers for your journal I haven’t looked into sources for that yet - and good for you for letting it go when it stopped serving you - so many times we cling to things that have had their time! 😂 it’s a good reminder ❤

I printed my book covers at home on matte sticker paper. Now that I am using TheStorygraph, I am loving all the different data graphics they have to see your reading life. I am considering doing a monthly page in my planner next year with some of those images - pie charts, graphs, an image of the books you have finished, and even a calendar if you track your reading on a daily basis. I just track when I start and finish a book.

Hi Andrea! I enjoyed your book-focused episode. I have found that usually what is popular, I can't get into. :) I made through 50% of the first ACOTAR book and I discovered it wasn't for me. I think I'm just not a fantasy person. Luckily, there's something out there for everyone. I'm an audiobook listener and I listen while knitting, cleaning, working out, etc. A bad narrator could definitely make or break a book for me. If I'm 5 minutes in and I hear too many mouth noises, I'm done. hahaha I just finished Rebecca and I thought my 15 year old daughter would like it. It was perfect when you said you were 15 when you first read it! I am not a re-reader, but the one book I read every year is The Great Gatsby. Hope work goes well and I enjoyed catching up!

I love to hear your 15 year old is a reader too! That book had such an impression on me at that age. But even now, I still find something every time I read it. I can see Great Gatsby being a great re-read! I was so surprised I loved Fantasy as much as I do - I think I just love the total escape from reality. So happy you are here!

Wow, Andrea!! You are quite the reader!! You go girl!! I’m such a slow reader that I don’t get many books read in a year. And that’s ok! And I have never read a book twice. For me, books come into my life, for whatever reason, and I read them. Some stay for awhile and some leave quickly. I’m always at a certain point(place) in my life (physically, mentally, spiritually)when I read a book. And maybe I think, if I’d re-read the book sometime later, I wouldn’t want to return to that place where I was when I first read the book. Or I would want to return and can’t. Does any of this make sense?! lol So many books… so little time. Then I heard someone who reads the same book over and over say that the book never changes..but we do!! Hitting the “ pause” button now to do some journaling on that!! Looking forward to your book journal. Loving your channel. You’d be fun to grab a coffee with☕️

Oh yes! Let's go get coffee!! :) I totally get you about rereading - and I think there's a lot to that - I like to return to a space feeling or time in life - again and again, but I for SURE have times I want to move past and I am sure books read in those phases will never be rereads for me for that very reason. Not feeling the same when I go back is part of the interest to me too though as I evolve so does my response to characters etc. Someone should do a study! So happy you are here!

Hi. I just discovered your channel... the "re-reader" part caught my eye. I know a lot of readers, but only one other re-reader. I reread a lot, but unlike you, most of my rereads are non-fiction. I read fiction as well, but I'm less likely to reread those. I don't read a lot of fantasy either, and that's where most of the series seem to be. I would guess the fiction book I've reread the most was "the Bridges of Madison County". I probably read it 5-6 times and after the last time I lent it to a friend and let her keep it. The book I've reread the most is probably "84 Charing Cross Rd" by Helen Hanff. I reread a lot of journaling books, my 2 favorite rereads are "One on one" by Christina Baldwin, and "the New Diary" by Tristine Rainier. I only read physical books. I've tried a couple ebooks and audible, but didn't enjoy them. Thanks for explaining why that is probably so. I loved your video and I'm looking forward to more.

So happy you are here! It's funny I ended up editing out of the vid a moment where I share that as many times as I have reread Rebecca...I don't own a copy! I keep reading it and giving it away because I am SURE I wont read it again, every time! So this year I am finding a hard back copy and keeping it. Bridges would be a great re-read and in fact? I think I did re-read that - it was one that also evolved as I changed too. I am curious about Charing Cross road I will look that up! :)
