This is definitely an important message. I weight lift, run, and do boxing. This week I have been feeling really tired and after leg day yesterday I was just SUPER SORE. I still went for my run today but instead of extending the distance and time as per my training plan I instead did a slower, shorter run with newbie intervals again. I should have felt proud that I still did something but instead I feel a bit more like a failure. I am afraid of losing the progress I gained with the longer intervals. I know that's not how it works but gosh my mind doesn't want to give it a rest. Funnily enough, I am a physiotherapist too.

Thanks for sharing that. It’s so important we look at the bigger picture and listen to our bodies - physio’s make the worst patients!

This would have made a great mini series- not to make entertainment out of your misery! I'm all about cross training when injured, but could you also share the specific foot/ lower leg exercises that got you back on the trails? It can be so easy to give friends/ clients excellent advice, but not live our own lives by it. I try to ask myself, when I'm a tough situation, "what advice would you give someone else about this?" Glad you're healed! Happy running!

It’s a mixture of plantar fasciitis and a heel stress reaction. Bottom line - don’t train if symptoms are getting worse!
