approaching anything with confidence is the biggest mistake you will ever make. if you need confidence, that means that you do not see anything that is coming, you do not know anything and you are trying to cover it up with strentgh of emotion, and while you do that, you see less and less clearly, go further and further from reality. what you trully need is not confidence, it is clarity of percpetion, this is all that matters, because only what you cN percieve you know, and only on what you know you can deicide. lack of confidence is not good also, but it is still better then confidence, because at least you do not take any action usually and you do not do damage anywhere. an exemple of confident driven decisions in this world are the religious dacision taking people, lets say for exemple the muslim extremists, they do not know anything, but they have absolute confidence, and look at the consequences of their decisions on the world but most importantly on themselfs, their decisions are not even conductive for themselfs.

Toma Popescu Yes I think you are right that we should try to overcome short term thinking and make decisions based on facts rather than emotion but the point of understanding the topic is related to game theory. It is about how to make decisions knowing that others will make their decisions depending on their confidence levels. It is about looking for clues in society as to where we are in the cycle and positioning ourselves to be able to act quickly and decisively when society undergoes sudden changes.

till the time u dont take action how u can deduce wht is right or wrong. decision making or taking itself is an art which few can have. dont forget Einstein's sttaatement f u r not comtng mistakes it means u ddnt try new. specfyng muslims or any other religion is ur assumed ideology. have u witnessed in personal!

I came here in hope of learning something about confident decision making not to make the right decision but to make a decision you can stand up for. What is wrong and what is right can only be subjective. There is no absolute right and wrong. Bad and good is what you make it to be. In your eyes the terrorist movement is wrong, in their eyes it's the salvation this world needs. Neither of you are wrong or right. It is in the eye of the spectator to say so. Just imagine the paradox of making peace by making war. Wars have been fought to create peace. Who is wrong? I'm looking for a way to make a decision that makes you who you are. I'm looking for myself. Not the right answer. Because trying to always do the right thing brought me no where. It didn't make me who I am. I got lost in the perspectives of others. Because I have no confidence in myself. What do *I* think is right? To be influenced just the right amount is what I need. Not too much that I sway when I hear something new and to be just enough influenceable to be open for change. That is what it's important to me. Not to go for the absolute correct decision because that can't be achieved but for the decision that makes me who I am. And that right now I don't know how to get there on my own. I think confidence needs self-esteem. Not the shallow confidence like you are good looking so you get away with anything but the real trust in oneself that mistakes would have been never ever be rights even if you had the chance to go back in time. I don't have that. I threw myself away, I gave up on myself and I don't know how to get myself back.
