Confidence Intervals in Multiple Linear Regression

The most likely reason Excel doesn't implement the confidence interval on the mean response and the prediction interval on a future observation in the built-in Data Analysis tool is because it doesn't have a field to gather sample input to perform those calculations. That requires new data that uses the original data + regression results to predict the resulting range of the Y value. Since that information is unavailable, the Data Analysis tool doesn't have enough information to produce such output. This is the type of thing that should be built into software though rather than having to recall a bunch of complex, hard to remember, error prone formulas.
