I love your message, Mike, but here's an honest question - Yes, God delivered Paul and the disciples out of a lot of jams, as you said, but not out of all of them. Paul was beheaded, disciples martyred, why?

Simple answer: Hebrews 11:35 "..others were tortured, not accepting deliverance...". Some did not know their authority or the promise of life or that their work on earth was not finished. Some did not value their physical life here on earth. Those are some of the reasons that they did not accept deliverance that was available to them. The word does not record how Paul died. It's probably best to remember that the Bible tells us what in secular history is correct. We should not interpret the Bible by history (man wrote 'history' not God, he gave us His word as the witness, 1 John 5:9). It may be best to stick with the Word only, which is truth, spirit and life. Many times the historical record of man will bring doubt about the Word. If we did not know any secular history, there would not be that place for that doubt. God spoke through Peter; ...everything that pertains to life and godliness is contained in his word, 2 Peter 1:1-4. Choose life....
