General quota is for people who want to travel most part of train journey. Then we have Pooled Quota(10%) and Remote location quota(10%- distributed among crucial station) which is for intermediate station. Tatkal Quota is mere 10% or so. Rest of the seats are in army,MP,MLA,FT Quota. When some of special quota seats go unbooked these get cleared for RAC/GNWL passenger.
