Ben has so much intimate knowledge on the North and all the teams inside of it. His job would be so much easier from the start and the ability to mold and work with a solid young QB from the get. Immediate playmakers on offense and a really good defense and awesome cap situation. For the life of me I can't think of any reasons aside from ownership and other unknown intangibles that would keep Ben away from chicago.

Here is why Ben Johnson is coming to the Bears: 1) Ben Johnson’s Agent is Rick Smith 2) Rick Smith lives/works in Chicago/Highland Park. 3) Rick Smiths LinkedIn page says he works and is good friends with Cliff Stein 4) Cliff Stein was the Chicago Bears SVP/Legal Counsel/Lead Contract Negotiator of the Chicago Bears for 22 yrs and just left in 2024. Ben Johnson was interested in the Bears last season. Ben Johnson is interviewing with the Bears and was probably told the McCaskeys are good owners/people.

@ ok I see what your saying. Now I say if coaching in NV and Jax is so great because of the weather and no state taxes and the other reasons you gave. Why are the coaching and GM jobs constantly changing? Why are the coaches for those teams always tier 2 or 3 level? Both of those organizations are dumpster fires arguably worse than the Bears. NV is a freaking city in the desert, Johnson is not sending his kids to a school of kids walking around with tattoos and shirts with flames on them, and flat bill ball caps, and shorts 3 sizes to big. Johnson’s family is gonna live in an area that’s like Uber rich north suburbs of Chicago. Next door to his agent. Upscale private schools and have beautiful picturesque views of Lake Michigan. Jacksonville? Come on that’s swamp people. Dallas as an area is a different story. North Dallas is a nice area. That’s where I live after I moved from the Chicagoland area.

Bears haven't given any indication that they even want Ben Johnson. Yeah they did an interview They also interviewed 23 other people. The only indication we have gotten is that they flew McCarthy in on a private jet. It's also interesting that they scheduled their second Rooney rule interview immediately after the McCarthy interview. I think they have made their decision.

I honestly Just don’t know how this is even a discussion. The absolute most upside of any of these teams is Chicago and I’m not even being biased. We have a young promising QB front and center, 2 receivers and a tight end who is locked for the future, a young defense that showed they could be the best in the league (prior to Flus firing), draft capital to build the trenches, and a city who is passionate and fired up for their team. I think the narrative of we are a tough division is over played…like we have good coaches in the north but the QB play is not stable with Goff losing BJ (and Campbell without Ben isn’t great)…JJ is unproven with the Vikings and Love is showing more and more he’s probably not that dude. Here is an issue with the Raiders. If he goes there and they improve they will never get a true franchise QB as they will never draft high enough to get one, short of screwing their future. Why get yourself into that mess?
