In this episode of Cesar 911, I meet Pit Bull named Roxy. Roxy tries to attack every dog she sees to the point where the neighborhood is in fear. Her owners are fearful of Roxy to the point where they think she is hunting. I must help these owners control Roxy or it can mean danger for themselves and others. Remember: dogs are not born aggressive, we make them aggressive.

Yeah. This is definitely the wrong kind of dog for her. All dogs need good leaders, but not all dogs have the same drive to step in and do something - or can do the same amount of damage. Was their former dog original her husbands and to old to bother with her and her weak energy when they moved in together? What really get to me, is how her youngest have to step in and comfort her. Those kids are going to spend the rest of their lives trying not to upset their mother. And she will absolutely not understand it, when one of them finally withdraws because it's just to draining.

Right that part had me weak lol, she was like “oh and do I always have to be like this or only when training” like bruh you have to be consistent and practice it at all times, just as you would be with your kids all times, you have to keep up with a dog as well and make sure they stay inline at all times because animals can get curious and get themselves into trouble because of that, so you always gotta keep an eye on them.

Yeah, I see this over and over when watching Cesar rehabilitate not only the dog, but also the owners. The problem with these people is that they raise their pets the same way they raise their kids, i.e., spoil them, no rules, no assertion, no discipline, no limits. When you raise kids like that, they become the mass shooter at your local school, the uncontrolled kid in school or irresponsible adult at work. Cesar made the right albeit difficult decision to take Roxy away from their owners. Well done Cesar!

Sounds like my female neighbor who had two pitbulls. She would tell me "its all about how you raise them. My two are lap dogs that just want to give kisses." One day she opened her front door to leave for work. I was next door, in my own yard, washing my truck and facing away from her and unaware of what was about to happen. They bolted past her legs and sprinted across her yard and then across my yard and then I hear a faint "no no no" and by the time I turn my head, I am hit by a truck which turned out to be her two pitbulls. They sunk their teeth into my leg and took me down and start dragging me away. I reach up and grab my bumper and had a tug of war with my leg. I have adrenaline pumping and pull myself up to the tailgate and start inching my body into the truck bed and i still have two fully grown snarling pitbulls violently shaking their heads still attached to my leg. I get my body in and i remember trying to break my own leg off my body in order to stop the immense pain of their teeth dragging on my bones. The owner is now hitting them and hanging on them to get them to let go and they won't. They were on a mission to end my life and if I was a child and not a Marine, then I wouldn't have lived. The strength they had was unlike anything I ever felt. In the Marines we do martial arts training and i trained with Marines larger than myself and these dogs were stronger. I can still smell their breath and hear the sounds they were making during their frenzy. After a few mins of screaming and her beating on her pitbulls two of my big male neighbors realized what was happening and they both ran over and they let go. Finally. Its not how you raise a pitbull. She did everything right. Its their DNA. For whatever reason, these two dogs flipped their switch and I was the target. I had never interacted with them. They saw me daily for several years, going to my truck everyday for work. I didn't even acknowledge them. Inside the ambulance the EMT told me I was the second pitbull attack that week. The first attack the pitbulls owner was sitting in a recliner reading a book and for no reason her pitbull jumped up and bit her face and held on and took her to the ground. By the time help arrived the pitbull had taken off her nose and both lips and I actually saw the woman in town a year later and she is horribly disfigured and will have multiple surgeries to try to make her look normal. So my neighbor was responsible for the costs. She had to pay over $10,000 in medical bills and had I not had insurance it would have been 5x that and a judge would have sold her car and house in order to satisfy the judgement. She tried to use her homeowners insurance, nornal insurance, and some other insurance but she found out that that breed or any breed that has pitbull in it, cant be insured because of their violent nature and history of being the breed that takes the most lives each year and takes the most children's life each year and the most unprovoked attacks each year and the next breed down, isnt even close. I have lifelong scars and now PTSD around dogs. I have seen my own bones amd thigh muscle and tendons. It was awful. A married couple both just got 18 years in prison each for the death their pitbull caused when jt attacked an elderly woman and when her husband went to save her the dog attacked him so bad his injuries were fatal. So anyone reading this, you've been warned. This breed has a bunch of groups trying to change it's image and they are so disingenuous its sad. You could get lucky and the pitbull never flips into genetics mode or it could take your childs life for no reason. My neighbor lost both dogs after quarantine and they were put down. She also lost over ten thousand dollars and it could have easily been $50,000 had I sued for emotional damages as it still has me messed up. I now have to ask if someone has a pitbull before entering their house(if i dont know them) and it's embarrassing. So please take my advice and do not risk it. Sure a black lab or boxer could hurt you but the chances are close to nothing especially compared to a pitbull. They were bred to be violent and they are they just suppress it, until one day the switch flips

Imo, they shouldn't have any pets. Even goldfish would suffer. Just because goldfish are hardy doesnt mean they dont suffer when their owners dont make sure its environment is optimal. Same for other 'easy' pets. Also, both the parents are unsuitable to have pets. They're unable or unwilling? to see that they themselves are the problem, not the animals. Hopefully I'm wrong...

I think the problem could be that she doesn't understand the difference between being aggressive and being assertive. I think she felt like she had to present as something that wasn't herself, and play a role. What she needed was the confidence to take control -- of her own emotions, & the dog. Good discipline isn't being aggressive; it's being calm & in control. For a well behaved dog, the person always has to be the boss. You can be a kind boss, but you have to be in control.

One thing that really annoys me is when people have a problem with something and are clearly clueless and then an esteemed professional warns them not to do something and they insist on doing it and it goes poorly. It's one thing if what they're doing isn't going to have an effect on anyone else but this sure did. People need to put their pride down and ask themselves, "Am I a professional in this field with years of experience?“ If the answer is no then you should probably listen to the professional.

Some people aren’t aware of their own problems. When you got a dog, a horse or other sensitive animal. But mostly an animal you have to work together. You have to change your own behavoir. Animals, especially dogs, are a mirror of you. Then, the next problem is, is a dog owner willing to change, have goals and ask for help. A dog is the best therapist to show you your good and your bad side. As an owner you can ignore that.

Dear Cesar, what follows is a litany of people ridiculing, judging and condemning a woman and her family for being brave enough to reach out for help and taking it. Then the family tried their hardest to do what needed to be done, but at the end of the day, they realized they weren't the right family for the dog they had and made the difficult but kindest decision to relinquish the dog to someone who was a better fit for her. In all of the videos of yours I've watched, I've never seen you be discriminatory or judgemental or blaming with the families you work with. You are always kind and generous and respectful. This will continue happening because pitbulls are being so romanticized in the US. People like to think at them as only cute dogs and are being fooled with the new mantra: “it’s not the breed, it’s the human”. If people were just told the truth about APBT then we could prevent a lot of fatal accidents. The truth that people should be told is that the breed was created for the ONLY purpose of fighting other dogs to death. In order to achieve this man created a breed with an extremely strong prey drive, an extremely high pain tolerance, a low self-preservation instinct, all this to create the will to die before letting go, once they are triggered. If people were lectured about this, then they would have the opportunity of making an informed decision about owning this kind of dogs, with all the responsibility and accountability that this entails. The deeply embedded traits in their DNA makes them a potentially dangerous breed and this traits will not go away with treats and kisses as many people like to think.

It was sad for the children to lose Roxy but until thier mother is able to become a better leader they should not get another dog, big or small she is the problem. I have a sodt spit for Rottie's and it broke my heart he was put down because it was surely the mothers issues that caused his insecurities to attack her. She should not have any dogs.

I bet he did off camera. Then for the sake of the kids etc not mistrusting their parents or being teased at school etc, the show decided best interest for parents to make the suggestion and turn it into a learning moment of "the dogs needs first...." Etc and probably told the parents never to go with dogs again, not even small ones because they wife is a dog "romantic" not a genuine dog lover. She will ruin any dog, small or big, simply as she is relationship lazy, wants to nurture the stuff she likes and avoid the elbow grease and boundaries, responsibility....

😂I was thinking THE SAME THING!! I’m a retired dog professional and time and time again, I have seen people get dog breeds that are way past their abilities to lead them. When this happens, the dog becomes the leader AND protector. Some people just aren’t naturally equipped to lead or cannot “learn” to lead. This situation was dire and I’m so glad they gave Roxie up. Thinking of the 2 dogs she’d already attacked and the tension the neighbors AND their dogs were dealing with, that was a no win situation and HOPEFULLY, this couple doesn’t run out and get another dog (large or small) because I guarantee that with their preference for large “bully” type breeds, the same thing will happen! They need long term therapy in how to manage dog ownership.

Cesar is an angel to take this dog because this family chose the wrong breed - just dumb to pick a powerful breed and not put in the work it takes. The woman is an emotional basket case around the dog which doesn't help and creates more drama! What's next for this family: a German Shepard or Belgian Malinois or Rottweiler because they think it's cool?

Probably. Rottweiler was where they started and had put down after it bit her face. No Cesar that time 😔

They had a Rottie and wrecked it the same way they wrecked Roxie. Unfortunately, the Rottie paid with its life for their ignorance. Honestly, they shouldn't have any dog, big or small, because they won't change, If they could change, they would have changed in order to keep Roxie. Without changing themselves first, they'll end up wrecking any dog they get.

Right decision. Beautiful family, hope they can find another dog with good energy for their family.

Yeah, the two parents have week minds and they’re not able to see past their own fear and that’s not a good combination. It sucks especially for the kids, but those two cannot have that dog and at least they can give it up so it doesn’t have to be put down. Way to go

Cesar, you were so kind with this dear family that loved Roxy but couldn't keep her under control. She is going to be trained by the best and eventually find her forever home with a stronger personality type that can keep control of her high spirits but bring out her calmer love without need for agressions.

Please.. it’s good you tried to save some animals lives but find a dog that suitable to your energy and kids as well. Because it is so sad for the dog to give it back to the pound shelter because of the adopters lack of knowledge on how to handle dogs. Thanks Cesar for keeping the dog.

Why do they keep getting dogs they can’t control? Aggressive breeds?? Their children are in danger. I hope they realize they are creating aggressive dogs. They took no responsibility for this dog’s behavior.

Dogs aren’t born aggressive unless they are badly bred. Aggression is a learned behavior. Dogs become aggressive because owners are not strong enough to train them properly.

No "aggressive breed" is agressive at all after Caesar trains them

It has to be accepted that not all dogs can cope with the kind of "playing" that their owners enjoy. Most dogs prefer a quiet, organised home and most homes with children do not fit that bill - sometimes with disastrous consequences. At least this couple realised that they could not provide the kind of home Roxy needed. Good for them.

It's love for me too, Cesar!!! You're amazing! And an excellent teacher. I've learned so much about myself and how to respect animals. I've missed your show. Thank you, it's good to see you touch so many lives. In such a positive way. Keep up the GOOD work!

I really wish this family don’t take another dog until they learn to deal with one - probably never… Anyway I’m glad that at least they agreed to let Roxy with Cesar! My complements 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
