Please consider this: 1) Canadian Truckers protested against the government that was responsible for their plight WHILE the "students" protest the colleges that have no say in what Israel does OR in US foreign policy. 2) Civil disobedience is the last step after attempts to settle the matter peacefully have failed. "Protesting" before contacting the authorities and seeking redress is just a tantrum.

I like Vivek and think he’s missing the fact that the students are protesting for divestment of Columbia from Israel. Students believe tuition money is murdering people. Now, they had options such as transferring schools or even protesting the defense contractors directly, but they didn’t. They chose to protest directly where their money is spent, so I think they do have skin in the game but are strong arming universities because it works and has been done before. I’m not trying to make value judgements, just doing my best to display how they think.

This is why they want to disarm you so that you don't have that final redress. When you don't have that final redress you are just a slave of the system.

Being arrested for obstructing others right to attend a service they had paid for still leaves the protesters with the right to bail and to have their day in court.

The Canadian Truckers cleared the Coutts highway and cleared it BEFORE the "Emergencies Act" was declared by Trudeau and Ottawa was NEVER blocked for emergency services. This was a pure power grab.
