Namaskar Sir. I think I took a right decision by watching this video in two halves. First half from 00:00 to 12:40 and Second half from 12:41 to 24:16. First half sets the stage. Second half showcase the act. Sir, I must say, it's easily among the best videos I watched offered by you in this channel. Important notes displayed in between your ongoing explanation made understanding a piece of cake. The inverse proportionality of Frequency and Wavelength, the working of Carrier Waves, the breakdown of 1 mHz to 1 wave and simultaneous showcase of frequency equalling what number of waves is tremendous. Further taking the whole SW explanation to macro level by third graphical representation is a complete hats off moment. The usage of, and please correct me if I'm wrong, textile product box to correctly align all those three papers during video's shooting bestowed your dedication. I hope this video reaches out to all beginners and seasoned listeners alike to get a whole new insight on SW Bands and their working. I also would like to share a small edit. The frequency range under their respective meter bands is something that's not constant and undergoes updations here and there. Please allow me to share you the latest set of SW Frequency Range alongwith their Meter Bands as per Shortwave-Info Website's Updated SW Broadcasting Schedule. 2300-2500 kHz (120m Band) 3200-3400 kHz (90m Band) 3900-4050 kHz (75m Band) 4700-5100 kHz (60m Band) 5800-6300 kHz (49m Band) 7200-7600 kHz (41m Band) 9300-9995 kHz (31m Band) 11500-12200 kHz (25m Band) 13500-13900 kHz (22m Band) 15000-15900 kHz (19m Band) 17400-17995 kHz (16m Band) 18800-19100 kHz (15m Band) 21450-21996 kHz (13m Band) 25500-26200 kHz (11m Band) 73! 🙏

Harshit ji, first of all, let me congratulate you for, perhaps, one of the finest comments I ever read on this channel or any YT channel. Secondly, thanks so very much for the valuable update information, it shows your hard work and dedication towards Shortwave listening. We have only handful of listeners of such dedication left in the country today. Also, what amazed me was that you recognised the hard work behind the video. It was chilling cold, I wanted to quickly make the video on the thought I had in mind. Whenever something comes to my mind, it starts haunting me unless I complete it. The sun was heading rapidly towards western horizon. I wrote in rough writing using the first paper I got in my hands in the home; and seeing the strong winds, I used a small piece of stone to make a cardboard of empty shirt box stand still, and fixed quickly the papers inside it without worrying about how it will look to the viewers, the information was more important in my eyes Also, the first graph, which I also showed in the CB Radio video, is actually an old card of some marriage invitation. Thanks so very much for kind appreciation and having such a keen eye for the channel videos. Long Live the Radio.

@@pravindersheoranji, Namaskar Sir. Thank you for your kind words. It's a least an AM listener could do. The reason I shared an updated SW Frequencies Chart because I was able to copy Voice of America at 12125 kHz yesterday evening. And while you were explaining the third graph, the 25m Band description caught my eye and then I decided to carefully jot the updated SW spectrum and share it alongwith my comment. I applaud your sincere and humble efforts for making this video a reality. The usage and upcycling of the materials lying around to bring forth an amazing and conceptual laden video truly bestows your dedication towards radio, radiowaves and to this channel. Dear Pravinder Ji, Sorry, I am late by a day. You have put in a lot of efforts in explaining the Radio Frequency Spectrum (specially the SW spectrum) and its related Meter Bands. IMO, this wasn't an easy task for you. Excellent job done sir! 😊I have personally learnt a lot from this video, and I'm sure, so would have others. As for the number of SW Bands (SW1, SW2 . . . etc.), as I understand, these are much relevant to an analog based tuning dial (needle type dial). On such analog based SW bands, lets say if the radio has just one SW band with 4 to 6 or more Meter Bands (say 19m, 25m, 31m, 41m, 49m & 60m - i.e. total of say six Meter Bands), then in that case, on a particular meter-band (say 25m), tuning a particular station becomes quite difficult as the stations on the 25m are cluttered very closely to each other in a very small space. The cluttering of stations for a particular Meter Band will of course depend on the length of the dial scale, the longer the dial length the lesser the clutter. Hence, I have always preferred an analog radio with multiband & with a longer dial scale. If one has seen those good old vintage tube (valve) based table radios, they mostly were multiband with a long dial scale. Also the high end models had an additional 'Fine Tuning' knob. That's how one could tune a particular radio frequency for a clear reception - This was/is known as 'Band-Spread'. Please do not confuse 'Fine Tuning' with 'BFO Tuning' - They are two distinct features. In todays modern radios, which are based on digital tuning dial, they can be precisely tuned to a desired frequency with just a push of few buttons - Quickly and efficiently. Just MY 2 Paisa. Pravinder Ji, thank you so much for your time & efforts for sharing your knowledge and experience with all of us and for keeping the Radio alive. I am grateful. Long Live The RADIO. Kind regards, Narendra P.S. I see a few comments regarding the length of the video. IMO, the runtime of the video is irrelevant as long as the explanation is easy to understand and makes good sense. Hence, one must never compromise explanation/teaching so as to accommodate the video runtime - This will defeat the sole purpose of making such videos. Yes, the total runtime should be within the KZbin guidelines Just MY personal opinion.
@pravindersheoran9 ай бұрын
Narendra ji, yet again a great comment. What I couldn't explain because of time limits, you have summed it up really well. That's exactly the case. D-808 like DSP Radios are a different story altogether and Analog tuners are a different species in terms of SW tuning. Thanks so very much for being here. I am glad the hard work got noticed.

Good morning Parwinder Ji, Very nice video lots of information in this. Hats off to you to make such detailed video with lots of information that clear many misconceptions. However, I am really sorry to inform you one correction in your video. 6:49 here you have shown human can hear (20hz - 20khz) is a sound wave and this is not a part of electromagnetic spectrum. Whereas radiowaves are a part of electromagnetic spectrum, of which visible light is also a part (750-420 THz) 😊. Apart from this small correction aap ne bahut mehenat lii hai to make this video I am very much impressed. Keep it up the good work 👍
@pravindersheoran9 ай бұрын
Thanks so very much for kind appreciation ji, means a lot to me. Actually I understand the fact that the human voice (or let's say sound) is not an Electromagnetic Wave but a Mechanical Wave. I had pointed this out during the 'Citizens Band Radio' video where I had shown this spectrum page the first time. Here, in this video, I skipped this and many other details (explained in CB Radio video) to make sure that the already large length of the video doesn't become larger and also having in the mind that many viewers who will watch such a long video will mostly be the loyal viewers of this channel and they would have watched the CB Radio video anyway.
