The connection of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur to Abraham's attempted sacrifice of Isaac is clearly the fulfilling of the final sacrifice/atonement of Jesus Christ (Yeshua) the Messiah. Messianic believers could see a reference to Messiah (just before 37 mins. on the timeline) where Mr. Sacks speaks of the prosecutor's demand for proof of even one human being who justifies God's decision to create man. Job is a type for Messiah. Everything was taken away from him, yet he refused to curse God; later, all would be restored. A few minutes after this on the timeline, Mr. Sacks even makes the connection between Job and the Akeda. The TNK is full of rich, profound symbolism and imagery. Blessings, all!

The 1st is encapsulated in the question that appears twice in the Book, i.e. what is man? This is a very profound insight. 54:20 as an ex-Catholic let me say that that happened mostly in theory and among some of the hierarchy, but many still subscribe to replacement theology and just look at the fact that Benedict XVI pardoned a rogue bishop who downplayed the Shoah. This may sound very anti-ecumenical but anti-Semitism is a feature, not a bug, of traditional Christianity. Otherwise you'd have to contradict and question the Church Fathers and Gospel writers who didn't seem to like the Jews very much and that would be like questioning the rabbis who gave us the Talmud as we know it. And pardon me rabbi, but Catholics can always ignore what the current pope said since it's not "infallible" and forced to follow. That's how they get around anything they don't like hearing, and I fear that the Church as a whole will become more conservative and once again hostile to Israel considering that the more Traditionalist (and anti-Semitic) segments are growing in power and numbers in relation to their more liberal counterparts. We'll see what happens.

The first word of the Bible tells us the whole story when you go back to the Paleo Hebrew. God declared the end from the beginning. Bereshet! Bet+Resh=son of Aleph=God, Shin = Destroys (as in the fire in the burning bush which represented sin but not consuming it, a symbol of grace), Yod =by his own hand, Tav= by the cross, his covenant and promise. The Torah starts with the Son, it represents the heart of God which is the first and last letter of the Torah. The first and last letter of the Bible is Bet+Nun= Son. The second word of the Bible is Bara it means to create from nothing! Go to each letter in the Hebrew and see what you get, bet=resh=Son of and Aleph = God. Then real Teshuvah starts happening in one’s life, and one is able to work on replacing their animal soul with their divine soul. Before Teshuvah, the animal and divine souls were sharing the same mind, heart, body, and soul. Once the animal soul is removed, then -only then- can one build a new life without re-creation of the old life. Ascent to descent, prayer, is the oil for this machine of Teshuvah. The coupling must maintain their closeness with heart, body and soul throughout their lives, because this closeness redirects the gravity of men back to their original point in the arms of YHVH- rebirth! But the main reason for the process of coupling on earth is to put women back to their rightful place equal with men. Women are the true image of YHVH and the true voice of YHVH. The coupling has three Tanach sightings: Moses, Abraham, and David- all of them have lived in paganism before coming through to YHVH. All of them had mis-directions of their gravity (sexuality). Abraham had concubines and many wives. Moses chose to be celibate (later in life). David had many wives and many children from them, too. Abraham and Moses met their soul-mates, but sinned in their own way. Abraham’s sin was in using concubines and many wives to relieve his gravity, when Sarah should have been his only true connection with the gravity in the confines of equality. Moses’ celibacy led him to leave the earth (one of many reasons) and not finish his courses of action for YHVH. David never met his soul-mate and sinned gravely in his mis-direction of his gravity, which caused many generations of poverty, famine, and murder to prevail in his life and around him. The voices of the Tehillim! But their major sin was not teaching men that women are equal and free- women are the true vessel of YHVH. There is no redemption without women teaching Tanach or being equal in the world. Half the world’s knowledge is being abused, trapped, and being lost into the negative stillness of men’s sins of the feather to the hammer violence of women all over the world. It is true that women are on a higher spiritual level than men yes but yet both of them fell in the sin.
