A good advice would be to accentuate more your toes of left hand to get more consistancy of the general marcha sound. Left hand is VERY important.

Notice that i was fired from a salsa band years ago because singer said my left hand marcha was too weak. So i worked hard on that and now i litteraly almost slap-like my heels ;-) "à la Patato" keeping marcha left hand position

@@jpb93360 That’s the truth. I’ve teaching and doing pop and r&b stuff for so long that I’ve lost the thick sound that I had 10 years ago when I was playing with salsa bands in Dallas and Fort Worth. I’m glad you comment on my videos. You’re keeping me honest and on my toes.

Thanks for the video. Always helpful, and I enjoy watching your riffs in the last part. A question - it looks like you have a synthetic head on your main drum and a natural head on the Tumba. Do you find this useful? I've got two 11.75 inch drums so was thinking this might help to differentiate the sound (in addition to pitch of course). What do you think?

I initially had two different heads because I couldn't afford to buy three for the set and I liked the tumba sound as it was. I recently bought the Nuskyn for the tumba and love it. too. It's a lot easier to maintain consistency with synthetic heads, so I would try one and then buy the other if you don't like having two different types of heads.

great grooves I hope i get half as good. i have small pair of congas that I bought. Was playing acoustic drums for years but took up much room these don't and wife likes the softer noise volume lol

tc stands for touch. And some of the toes, heels, and touches can vary from one player to another.
