Es toque de candombe en congas de Chichito Cabral, Ruben Rada, etc. El candombe beat y candombe jazz. La duración de los golpes y la dinámica es distinta, el segundo slap del compás no forma parte de los patrones que les escuché a Rada o Chichito, incluso usan golpe abierto coincidiendo con el primer tapado. (Y la gente que toca congas en candombe, en general, toca con el tambor grave a la izquierda -Ruben Rada, Walter Haedo, Chichito Cabral, "Boca" Ferreira, Álvaro Salas-. Pero la batería no hace candombe. Faltaría Galletti, Osvaldo Fattoruso, por ejemplo.

@@pamelacabral38 hola Pamela, sí, es llamativa la similiturd. Yo nunca había escuchado ese patrón en el funk, a no ser que sea una influencia opuesta, desde las grabaciones del trío OPA en los años 70, toca Rada las congas y canta, el tema Montevideo, por ejemplo. Tenés razón, el patrón es muy similar. Fijate el tema "bueno que me voy" de Rada, en la parte de candombe, toca él mismo las congas, está invertido el orden pero es el mismo patern. O en la grabación de "Mamá Reloj", del Rada con La Banda. Ahí también se nota. Gracias a ti.

Would these patterns transfer to a djembe? Been practising the bongos to funk and fancy a djembe for a more tribal sound.....but just lurrrrve these grooves and can hear them round a fire!! Thanks for posting man!

Great rhythms and you really play them amazingly. I love that spacey, shifting dimensional feel that a lot of them had. It would be helpful if you could break these right down to explain step by step each stroke and hand for more intermediate players like myself as I tried with the last one and kind of got there, but not quite...!

¿Candomble or candombe? Candomble is a religion, a culture form Brazil. Candombe is a musical ritmo from Uruguay.

The rhythms are great the tracks he chose to play them to are shit! (except for the last track) it was what all the previous ones should have been!! totally detracting fam the great conga rhythms. Great slowed down instruction.

It might help if you played along to some actual funk. Nothing funky about any of this. You’re confusing ‘funky’ with ‘syncopated’ and ‘over playing’. If you were told that crap is funk, fire your drum programmer.
