Interesting to say the least - I just went through a whole bunch of testing and this has not been ruled out yet. My MRI was normal, Adrenal Glands look healthy and Cortisol was normal, ACTH was normal, Plasma Metaphrine's normal. But still pumping out high amounts of DHEA on a normal basis over 850 for a male.

So this explains why if I don't eat for a few hours my blood sugar drops and I start shaking. I used to get out of work and hadn't eaten in maybe 4 hours and my blood sugar would be in the low 40s. Still waiting on clinical diagnosis but I like learning about how it all works and your video is good to follow.

@5:25 the atypical female genital is not a guarantee and is compared on a Prader scale to judge severity of the malformation. Side note: most CAH XX chromosomes patients consider themselves female, not intersex.

2:00 and 2:20, are there characteristic mutations to explain the difference? Is the classical due to gene deletion by e.g. introducing a stop codon, and non-classical by a point mutation, and perhaps a splice variant?

I have been trying to learn this with absolutely no understanding of the basics of what you’re talking about. I have been trying to understand why this is considered an “intersex” issue in that one ladies intersex 1.7% claim and the counter claim of this issue CAH and LOCAH isn’t considered intersex. This goes way over my head but it just doesn’t sound like intersex. However maybe this is why someone would feel female while they are male? Or am I aiming at the moon and hitting Pluto with my thinking?

The symptoms for the non-classic form of CAH sounds ALOT like the symptoms for PCOS. Makes me wonder if these women really have non-classic CAH and if the treatment for that is any different than the treatment for PCOS.
