This is already happening in India today without the public reporting any issue in comprehension, case in point the lok sabha and vidhan sabha election in Maharashtra in 2024. It is upto election commission to increase public awareness in the run upto elections. The only point is to coordinate it well in all states by election commission. The unnecessary disruption in public activity that reduces economic activity can be curbed by ONOP.

What is the tenure of a MLA/MP if they win a bypoll. Do they get 5 years or the remainder of the term? When an assembly or the Lok Sabha falls we will get a bypoll not a poll.

With ONOP I could see there will be less chances of state assembly disullion and go for mid term polls. In the last 20 years people are more aware for whom they are voting and not giving mixed results in any state. Single party or Group getting full majority. There is less chance to Govt falling before term ends. Coming to mid term or remaining term policy, it can be rarely come but still fine. This is already happening at all levels in the form of by- elections and local bodies running without elected representative.

People who talk about elections, evms and constitution should understand the basic thing that the election commission will not have any dedicated staff to conduct elections. First they need to address why urban pockets in India will have less polling percentage. How is the voter list prepared?

ONOP is bad -- This might have anti climax -- CONGRESS MIGHT COME IN CENTER and STATE as well in 2034 -- Major assumption here is BJP is eternal and will last for next 100 years -- Far from truth -- Massive unrest in ground level on unemployment / price rise and general governance -- Defense exports / Number of International Airports WILL NOT cut ice in front of common voters -- there are too many areas where Government did not do much for example matching SKILL LEVEL to EMPLOYMENT ( that SKIIL INDIA program is non starter ).. Apprentie program need to pass through State government -- Centrally governed ground programs bound to fail .. Something majorly wrong in ONOP Idea itself

Please bring some other experts not related to any political parties. This guy is costly legal person even though he lost lot of cases he will get the chances from multiple parties as RS MP , so focus less on these people they always think about money and power and not about country and poor people. Congress party problem is they relied on these costly lawyers because of cases on them and forgot to thinking of country and public.
