World-renowned British paediatric neurosurgeon Professor Owase Jeelani talks to GMB about the remarkable progress of Arthur and Bernardo Lima, the little boys who were conjoined at the head that he successfully separated in 2022.
Now, Professor Jeelani has been contacted by families of two new sets of twins conjoined at the head. He is hoping to bring them to the UK in the New Year to carry out the very complex surgeries to separate them through his charity Gemini Untwined.

Good grief! Do you think all children/people who are disabled shouldn't be alive, because of whatever you consider a "normal life" to be?? These children had already had several failed attempts to separate & are now having to try to learn literally everything. What type of life do you think they would have had if they hadn't been separated??

Pre surgery videos look like the boys are much more cognitively "normal" than post-surgery. It seems the surgeries caused some brain damage.

I saw on another post that these lads are now severly brain damaged and yet were not before separation. I hope thats not the case as other conjoined twins have lived long fullfilled lives with no mental disability. I hope the glory of separation wasnt at their expense.

But the facts that they had had several other doctors attempting over the years trying to separate them & causing problems like scar tissue & them being older made everything more difficult; but, they are making progress, albeit slow progress. But then again, they're both having to learn or relearn everything.
