Conneaut Lake Park - A Tribute (1989 Footage)

Here is a video I compiled from my home movie footage of Conneaut Lake Park circa July 13, 1989. Conneaut Lake Park is a classic amusement park located in Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania. The video features many of the rides open at the time, including: the Paratrooper, Wild Mouse, Ultimate Trip, Devil's Den, Twister, Tilt-a-Whirl, The Whip, Yo-Yo, Sea Dragon, Spider, and Carousel. I grew up going to CLP and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
The song "Conneaut Lake Park" was written & performed by Matthew Mitchell, who won the official CLP Jingle Contest in 2012.

I love the music, too bad about what happened , a few places I remember in the Catskills closed for good, I know first hand how hard it is , to see the memories from your childhood, gone forever!

My mom's side of the family had family reunions up there EVERY last Sunday in July. We are from New Castle, PA. Alot of good memories I can say for sure. I was 3 in 1976 riding the Blue Streak. Ultimate Trip was my favorite, and then the arcade come about. I looked forward every year Summer Vacation to go up there. Now, well, different story. Looks like a ghost town. :( I was up there in 2005-06 with my GF at the time and her daughter. Everything was FUBAR and they were rebuilding the Clubhouse. Funny enough, it burnt down weeks later..........

Does anyone remember dracula;s cave? it was a more involved dark ride. that got taken down in the mid 80's for their very first water slide.

I visited later when the park did not have as many rides but was still a good regional park. It is a shame what the new owner is doing to the park. He has no interest in keeping it going as an amusement park!

Conneaut Lake, PA. Well, it used to be there. Now it's just basically an empty field that occasionally hosts some small local events. Sad to see the amusement park slowly disappear.
