CONNECT CANON CAMERA TO STREAMYARD | Using Camera Live and Camtwist
In this video I go over how to connect your Canon Camera (60D) as a WebCam in StreamYard without using a Capture Card. I show how camera feed looks through a capture card (ATEM Mini) using the HDMI port and then how I use Camera Live and CamTwist to get a clean feed from the camera using the USB port.

Update - if your unable to see CamTwist as a Webcam option in Google Chrome try the developer version of Chrome it's called Canary. See if that recognizes Camtwist as a Webcam.

Great video! Super informative. I’ve used my external camera in Streamyard plenty of times before BUT how do I get it to use the mic on my Canon DSLR as the mic input?

You could use a male-male 3.5mm cord to plug your camera mic into the mic input on your computer if you have an input. OR use a Capture card which grabs video and audio bit be carefully some Canon Cameras don't have a clean hdmi feed.

Great work! I have used the canon DSLR cameras to stream on different occasions, what you need to do is switch you lens to manual focus and that box will disappear.

Do you know of any great alternatives for Camera Live and CamTwist when using windows? I cannot for the life of me get a clear streaming picture in streamyard while using my Sony a6400 camera.

Thanks for your comment, are you using a Capture Card? The a6400 is a great camera but it wont work with the process I share in this video. Sony has a utility you can try but a capture card is recomended.

I was able to set up my dslr to stream on streamyard on my Mac, but it’s picking up my audio from my laptops internal mic. How can I make it pick up my audio from the external mic plugged into my dslr camera?

If you're using a Capture Card then you can select that from your Microphone dropdown list (same as what you have selected for your Camera). If you're not using a Capture Card then your not actually sending Audio from your camera to your computer. The method shown in this video works well but doesn't send Audio to the computer from the camera. You would have to connect your mic directly to the computer and select it there. Hope this makes sense.

Yes I believe you do. I must admit this method has become a bit outdated, i'm working on an updated version of the video since it remains a common issue for Canon owners.

If you have a Cropped Sensor it will not be full screen. I streamed like that for a long time before swapping cameras. However if you use Ecamm it will automatically zoom in to make it full. I hope that makes sense.

Sorry this isn't working for you, many changes have been made since I put this video out - updates, new firmware, other utilities from Canon as well. I would recommend trying one of those utilities first.

Hey Kirk I have a canon M50 And a M1 MacBook I purchased a capture card to use on streamyard but the screen only stays live for a couple minutes what can I do

Sounds like the M50 has an auto shut off on it, if it does there should be a way to disable it. Try connecting the USB to your computer as well as the HDMI / Capture Card and see if that works.

Do you have to use camtwist and Atem mini if you want to connect the sound system to the camera, to get a proper and clear sound?

If your using an Atem Mini I wouldn't use CamTwist at all. Atem already presents to the computer as a Webcam so it takes the place if what I was using CamTwist to do. The question is are you getting a clean HDMI feed from your camera?

Hi SHA 70, thanks for your comment. Unfortunately I made this video over a year ago and no longer have the Camera (60D). I'm told the settings have changed since I created this but without a Canon camera i'm unable to test them out to see it works. Again my apologies we couldn't be of more help.

This same process will work in PC too but you'll have to ensure the computer can see all your DSLRs as Webcams first. A few Capture Cards would do it but I would recommend something like an ATEM Mini

I'm not sure I understand your question... multi camera is possible using just our browser and connected Cameras. How you connect the Camera's is the area that would require either a capture card or camera switcher.
