I have beavers in my back yard and they will actually periodically go around and break up the ice along the paths they swim so they can still go up for air. They swim/crawl along the edge and break up the ice half in the water half out. Very cool to watch.

Wish I'd known you when I lived in CT. Where I lived, the road sweepers would come by and push all the sand down the storm drains. Sometimes the pile would be almost to the grate. I never understood why they did that, unless they thought the rainwater would flush it into the waterways.

I love your confidence that CT relocate beavers. South Windsor just killed the beavers. I was, needless to say extremely upset. Just like when CT killed the moose down on rt 5 when it was found. Moose will never be permitted to repopulate CT.

Certainly looks like it - came down into the comments to see if anyone else spotted it! If it's trapped there by the current I don't understand why not *more* things get stuck there over time.

Here in southern Pennsylvania, it seems to be getting green a lot later. Maybe I’m just imagining things. The weather has been very strange though. Also the trees on the mountains were mostly green until halfway up they were completely bare. I never noticed that before.

The cotton wood trees were I'm at always start to turn they're fall color in July and that's really early for them to but they do I've been watching for years This hot weather in the day and colder at night not gonna be good for my tomato plants Sunday night i don't think they're gonna make much this year i hadn't even started any corn yet because I'm watching the night temperatures 2 or 3 cool nights is enough to make those plants grow slower without being in a greenhouse

Some day I'm going to have to do a couple videos of areas that were not just under water, but flowing like rivers several years back when we had so much rain over a couple of days that it flooded areas that people typically use for walking and jogging paths in Austin Texas. A lot like the way Arizona, particularly Tucson, has washes, which are dry until the monsoons in July and August. Then they flow like rivers for a couple months.

A properly installed flow device would solve the clogging problem. We need to convince Post10 to start installing them, as he know the correct method. I have one and it only needs maintenance once per year, not monthly. I am suprised how well it works.

The reason the ducks only stay in there nest for a month is they have to malt . As if they went into the water they would drown as they would have no oil in there feathers to keep a float .
