Join me as I paddle the Connecticut River Paddlers Trail from Woodsville New Hampshire to Thetford Vermont. This 38 mile section of river presented us with bald eagles, steep cliffs, farmer's fields and a visit from coyotes one evening! With hundreds of access points and over 50 primitive campsites, the Connecticut River provides a unique experience to paddle through the heart of New England. The Connecticut River Paddlers’ Trail is a series of primitive campsites and river access points from its headwaters in New Hampshire’s Great North Woods south to Long Island Sound. A variety of organizations assist with trail planning and development. With the support of the community, work continues to protect the river corridor, construct new campsites and portage trails, and expand the Paddlers’Trail from source to sea.

Thanks for posting your CT river trips. I’ve enjoyed watching all four so far. My wife and I paddled from Woodsville to Bradford this past weekend, staying overnight at Harkdale Farm campsite. I entire time we were there I had a feeling of déjà vu and didn’t realize until we got home the reason was I’d seen this video. Looks like your headed to my neck of the woods next. If you’d like help with the Bellows Falls portage, let me know, I live about 5 minutes away. It’s not difficult, just a tedious half mile road walk. I’d be happy to provide a shuttle if you’d like. Looking forward to your next trip.

You are very welcome. I've been slowly picking off one section at a time. I'm working my way toward you! The Connecticut must be huge down your way. Be sure to check out my other videos in the Connecticut River series. Most of all, thanks so much for watching. Happy holidays.

I'm going this summer. What a trail. Camp and enjoy the freedom of Knowing your untouchable. Bet you can't find me. God bless you. I hate the portages. Long island. That's the end. Unless you want to try and paddle to the hamptons. I love being there.

I've had the fantasy that I'd paddle from source to sea in one trip, at retirement, but i now have a daughter who's interested in joining. We threw it out there to make it a 4 year plan before she graduates high school. I'd love to get some insight and advice on preparing for the trip.

I suggest you read a few books written by paddlers who paddled the Connecticut River from the beginning to end. It starts up in Northern New Hampshire from a bog at the Canadian Border and flows to the Long Island Sound and ends at Old Saybrook, Ct Takes about 7 days to finish. Quite a few have paddled this. Check some canoe and kayak web sites they are a good source of information. Good Luck

Thanks so much for watching! No portages on this particular trip. We had this little adventure in early June. I used the Connecticut River Paddlers trail map to plan the trip. From the wilderness map company. We started out trip in Woodsville NH and ended in NNorth Thetford Vt. Both parking areas I found to be safe places to leave a vehicle. For some reason the end of this video was cut off during upload? So sorry about that. I had explained my trip in detail as I paddled to the parking lot. It's a great trip. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Best wishes.

Me to. I'm going to be their this summer. Canoed up and down this river. So many places to camp and enjoy your freedoms. A little smoke. A little drink. Untouchable on the river. Fish and leave all your hurt behind. Hope to see some of you this summer. Love Steve.
