Never had the team around her to play that well. Playing with mature vets who are focused on winning makes a huge difference.

@@billyjay86 I think Chicago was focused on winning, they just had too many bad players that were inconsistent. Marina was very inconsistent.

@@donnatravel I think there’s a difference between wanting to win and actually doing the things it takes to win. IMO, Mabrey’s falloff this season in Chicago started with the loss of Elizabeth Williams. They’d played together the year before in Chicago and spent the next offsesason playing on the same team overseas. There was a chemistry and basketball IQ there; they were vets who played well off each other and both got off to quality starts this season. As soon as Elizabeth went down, Marina’s game started wavering. Some players put other players in a comfort zone; others just don’t click. You’re right; she was 100% inconsistent. But I think a lot of her play was impacted by what her role was and what the fit was within the team culture and pecking order. The Sky are rudderless; the leadership seems weak. As a team, they seem to be distracted by social media, individual goals, personality conflicts, etc. Again, it’s one thing to say “we want to win”; it’s another to actually foster and build that culture. At any rate, Mabrey seems much more at peace with the vets (they’re focused pros sorta like Elizabeth Williams) on the Sun. Her recent play reflects this as well. She may very well remain inconsistent at times because will all know shooters can be streaky … but her time in Connecticut looks to be much more comfortable in terms of chemistry, roles and goals.

Marina Mabrey would definitely reach all her Goals and Dreams in Basketball if She was Traded to the FEVER along side Carlin Clark where the FEVER trades Nelissa Smith to the SUN for Mabry and the FUTURE Lights on Mabreys TRUE inspiration and Happiness would Ironically and Finally come to Fruition as She would be Consequently able to TRULY without any doubt Accomplish everything She ideally Desired in Her Basketball Streaming Enlightening Career !!!🎉🌋🎆🎀

I love how you Caitlin fans say that when Dijonai gets hit hard in the face by Caitlin and pushed down by her and you all say nothing. But when Dijonai accidentally pokes her in the eye, all h*ll breaks loose with you lot. All of those plays should have been fouls.
