Connecting a community - Cwmaman Primary School

Cwmaman Village at the heart of the Aman Valley has always had a strong, close-knit community feel. The community of Cwmaman have seen a number of changes over the years, but the new school, built on an old mining site has really raised spirits in the area. In our latest video we hear how the community, staff and children are enjoying their new facilities.
Cwmaman School was developed for Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council. The £7.2 million school was a significant undertaking, requiring extensive additional works, including the diversion of a major water way, and a special flood alleviation scheme.
This was funded jointly by the Council’s RCTinvest programme and Welsh Government’s 21st Century Schools and Education Programme.
The school now includes a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA), staff car park, on-site pupil drop-off area, grass sports pitches, external pupil spaces and a dedicated room which will be available for community use.
