Connecting TouchOSC to Multiple Computers (Ultimate Guide to TouchOSC)

We're going to take a look at how you can connect TouchOSC to control multiple computers. In this example I use a PC and an Apple macbook, both using Reaper. The principals are the same across OS and different DAWs.

TouchOSC is a MIDI control surface for your old iPad, tablet, or phone to work with your DAW and other software. We are using the latest version of TouchOSC, Mk2. Hexler (hexler.net/tou...) came out with the 2nd version (Mk 2) of TouchOSC in the summer of 2021.

Glad it worked! Ya TouchOSC can handle sending to 5 different connections per object in a template and Reaper should be able to handle tons of incoming messages. Glad it worked out!

Hi Tim, Thanks for your video. Did you ever try it the other way around? I mean 1 pc (with reaper) and 2 ipads controlling via the same template e.g. the synth params in reaper? I would like to set this up in order to have a bigger space (real estate) to make controles a little bigger? I'm only starting to work on this idea but any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for another great video. The one thing that used to trip me up was when using the bridge, you have to configure the bridge connection (third tab down) BEFORE you can select it in the MIDI tab (first tab).

Ya, it's certainly a confusing system, especially because computers don't like MIDI messages out of the box from an iPad. Glad it works for you now!
