There is an easier way to connect your implements to your tractor and all it takes is some good old fashioned simple physics. Connecting mowing and other implements to your tractor 3 point hitch is a pain most of the time. We show you a simple method of moving the implement to meet the tractor instead of the tractor to meet the implement.

Build yourself a platform that sets on top of 4 casters. After you have managed to connect the implement for the first time, lower the implement onto the new platform. After the first time, you can roll the implement to the tractor instead of backing the tractor to the implement. I was unable to set up pat's quick hitch. After several tries, I gave up on the pat' quick hitch. Quick hitch has its own problems. I am pretty happy with the platform idea. I have not seen this idea on the you tube so far.

Excellent as far as it went. I had exactly the experience you begin with. Levering the implement was a key idea. However, there are two other connections. And this rookie had to go to another video to find the key for those connections. That video, by the way, was not as clearly presented as yours, so kudos there also. A link to a second video - or an extension of this one - concerning connections to the top and power train would be appreciated.

You could use the lower link stabilizer to hold the arms out wide

I've had Pats quick hitches on my tractors since they were $169.99. Haven't been sorry since. One quick note, you may need a new top link because they add about 4 inches to the arm length, and you may need a PTO adapter for the length.

Likely you have already heard of these, but Pat's Easy Change hooks on the lower link arms are a Godsend!! They are not overly expensive, given the time saved, and their adaptability to many implements, many older ones not being Quick Hitch compatible. I can see you'll still be battling the problem with your lower arms not being held wide as you back up. I'm not sure of the solution (easy one) for your situation; adding stabilizer sliders or turnbuckles to yours will take some fabrication. But think about these as an option - they have been such a timesaver, energy saver, and really handy when it's 100 degrees in Central Texas! Cheers!

I have seen those. A bit out of the budget at this time. They look like a good system that would be very helpful. Anything helps in the hot Texas summers for sure.

Too much work, don't be so tight with your wallet and buy a Pats quick hitch. It comes with a spreader bar. Just back under the pins and raise the hitch. Get off the tractor and hook up the PTO and top link, lock the lower arms and you're off.

This is a viable option for someone who does not have a lot of money. Hard work never hurt anyone either.
