There is a problem connecting the wifi. I haven't been able to use since app was updated. Traeger you need to get this fixed. I would not recommend this grill or app.

I cant get it to connect. I even bought a wifi extender. I'n connected to the 2.4ghz band, not the 5. Why the hell cant it connect? Im sitting here with FULL wifi bars.

So, I had tons of problems connecting my traeger Century 885 to the 2.4ghz wifi connection until I did a little experimenting. I brought up the wifi information on the traeger and told my phone to connect to the traeger wifi. Then I used the app to connect a grill. Selected my model, made sure that it was going to go to the correct wifi connection and proceeded. It connected flawlessly. So, try that procedure and see if it works for you.

To be completely honest. I had a hard time connecting at first..but all I did was sign out and sign back in. I went to add my ironwood885 and it connected.

@@TraegerGrills It's the information the APP is collecting. There is no reason for your app to require location data and grill usage data. I think you get that and are trying to provide a cute reply to paint over your conspicuous data grab.

@@SuperBleha In 2020 you are the product. I recently turned off permission for google to access any of my phone data. It complains a lot, but everything works fine. We need consumer privacy laws protecting users from becoming the product of these apps.

My router is 15 ft away, open window and sliding door.. week signal is all i get..where is the wifi antenna on my silverton 650?

You spend this kind of money on 1300 series to have WIFI issues and it still will not connect I have called customer support 4 times and they still can not resolve the issue this grill is not worth the money that you spend for it to keep having these on going issues. I would recommend looking at other grills before you purchase a Traeger quality has gone down hill.

This video is now out of date (Dec 2021). Also next time slow down when you get to adding the code for a manual setup. Took some guessing but the 4 digit code is the last four digits of the wifi password... I think. After stumbling on I was able to connect, but the video actually didn't help. I would highly suggest you make a better help video and slow down a bit so people who are having trouble can see more clearly what you're doing. Remember anyone watching a 'help' video is either confused or needs expertise guidance. Connecting with lightning speed is not going to really help.

Bought Silverton 620 at Costco today. Fresh app install, wifi is 10 feet from grill. Guess what? Won't connect, stuck cycling at the QR code scan step. This thing is getting refunded this week. I thought I bought simplicity, not problems.

Hahaha wifi is A KNOWN issue with this grill. It is not this easy for many, many people.
