This was a very informative review! I am going to enroll our children in online school because their school is not offering distance learning at this time. I have been researching k12 vs. Connections Academy and I have found what you have said to be the same as what others have experienced. I am looking forward to having my children home for a second year and I hope that I can keep them permanently in an online school system.

This was such a good review. I think that you called out all the things which I would need to know. I had no idea that the k12 classes were so I flexible. I am so grateful for your information.

It’s still always something with k12 and some of those k12 teachers are just rude.. My child has been with them for 5 years now and I have had enough.. I even went as far as speaking with the principal and she was just as rude as the teachers

The same problem that I’m having with my fourth grader right now!!! My child does the work, they just refuse to updater her grades in the system.

Your vlog was extremely helpful. I have a Senior and a Middle Schooler. I certainly believe Connections Academy will be our school of choice. The flexibility and being able to pace themselves. Teachers sometimes only can teach a concept one way and this will allow us as parents to hone in on areas where we can present materials in their learning style. Your candidness is refreshing. If it's poor it just is. Did they give the same time off as in a brick and mortar school?
@dedicateddivahomeschooling3 жыл бұрын
Yes, they give the same amount of time off. K12 is more like a brick and mortar school when it comes to required classes. Connections is more relaxed.

I personally did K12 my sophomore year. It was such a disaster/mistake that I had to bust my butt all of my junior & the first half of my senior year just to be able to make up the credits & graduate on time.

Was it hard/lots of work? And did you still continue k12 after sophomore year or did you go back to normal school

@@bunches7324 don’t do it you need a lot of motivation just to do your work for home we’re their is tons of distractions. I say just finish school in person. You don’t want waste your senior and junior year behind a screen

I really appreciate your review of both schools! You're one of the few reviewers that actually have experience with both programs. Thanks to you, I've decided to enroll my 4th grade daughter (very independent) into Connections and my 2nd grade son into k12. He needs more hands on teaching and really enjoyed the live lessons that his brick and mortar school used for 2020-2021. Am I crazy for considering 2 different programs at the same time?? Hahahahaha, I have high hopes!! Thank you so much for your review - it's awesome

That will be very interesting, lol. My kiddos will be going back to Connections. Connection Academy gives that freedom and breathing space. K12 is a lot more structured. Last year with Connections, my kids had one class everyday. For instance, English Monday, Tuesday was Math and ..... With K12 here in TN, classes are like Monday - Friday you may have 3 to 5 classes a day and you must be there. I'm am going to try to make another video about the two after I re-watch this one. You are one brave mama, lol.
