Thank you for doing this series, how regular are they going to be? This episode raised some very interesting points. Some of the questions I’d like to ask are; obviously over a person’s lifetime they may experience a number of traumas. When dealing with these do you work on each trauma as a single event to resolve it or do you work on the trauma of a person’s lifetime in one big lump? Also, how can you tell when a trauma has been resolved completely? I’d also like to know about generational trauma that is passed down over generations. Quite a few questions, apologies! Thank you

Thank you Zareena and we really appreciate your support! We hope to continue this series for the foreseeable future with weekly or biweekly uploads. Regarding your first question, my approach is to not necessarily piece apart every single trauma for the sake of naming and re-living it but rather work in the PRESENT moment with all the 'effects' of the trauma and work on renegotiating those adaptative patterns that emerged in the wake of the trauma, instead. It can get overwhelming really quickly when we jump into the sea of grief, abandonment, fear, etc without any resources, so one of the ways we stay rooted in the healing space is to actually not do that but start from the present moment and begin to explore, in real time, how the trauma has affected the individual; the most powerful way we do this is by exploring the individual's relationships, for example, with their significant other, parent or boss at work, and start the inner work of integrating and healing that way. Hope that is clear. To your second question, I'm not so certain that trauma can be completely resolved but one of the ways we can begin to apprehend positive shifts is noticing the way we relate to ourselves, our inner dialogue with ourselves, not being as toxic and negative, and being able to feel more emotions and hold space for them without identifying entirely with them, not losing our sense of identity nor our sense of agency and expression. These are things we would explore further in real time but please do follow the series as we hope to explore all of these themes in greater detail, in sha Allah. We'll cover trans-generational trauma at some point in the series, in sha Allah, thank you for your input!

JazakAllahu khayr for this! I'm wondering about the connection between trauma and a disruption in spiritual connection to Allah. Does trauma block one's ability to connect? How does one overcome this to utilize the suffering toward ma'rifa of Allah?

Excellent question, thank you! We'll address this in a future episode, in sha Allah. Our fourth episode will touch upon the need for healing work in conjunction/parallel to spiritual development/wayfaring but we hope to tackle your specific theme- perhaps along the lines of post traumatic *spiritual* growth- at a later time. Thank you kindly for your input!
